Default Re: Top One Handers list

*gasp*
Bump.

I do this at the risk of ridicule and flaming from spreaders... go ahead and point out how useless and pointless this thread is, and how pointless being one-handed is, in general. But if you're going to, at least bring up an original point, otherwise we get tired of it.

Part of me reviving the thread involves:
Updating average rank list.
Adding users to average rank list who have requested I do so.
Replaying ALL songs on the improved song ranking-list and reconsidering the allocation of points.
Updating the list of requested songs to be added.
Playing all the requested songs, and assigning points to them. (Other people can do this as well, to lighten the load)

This is quite a long process, and will take me a while, but I will do it.

And I realize that this thread is dead, and may die again, but if we can progress to the point where at least several people have calculated their points, we can start to make a list, and hopefully put it on the front post, both to increase interest and to make the system a little more meaningful.

I also have a few proposals.

1. I remember being the one who suggested a cumulative system of adding points, to give extra weight to the harder accomplishments. I want to retract this, because it weights the harder accomplishments a little too much. For example, I don't even remember anybody being between 70 and 150 points. A major factor is the number of people who tallied their points this way instead of cumulatively, even (and especially) after I explained how to count the points. This also involves resetting the point limits to the "tiers" or "classes," which brings me to my next thing:

2. I think it's pretty pointless for us to have "tiers" at this point. Just because points are tallied up to calculate a ranking doesn't mean we need tiers. In fact, it would be just plain silly. We'd have what, 3 people in each section when we first get going with the list? I think we should just have a straight list of members (the equivalent of everybody in the same tier) as far as ranking goes.

3. I propose that instead of the 50k limit or something on the Average Ranking List, we change it down to 10k average rank. Past that it's pointless. Even going up to 10k is debatable.

Hopefully having me back will help it not die this time... I mean come on, it lasted over 500 posts before it died, it obviously has some potential left in it, right?

I'm watching you all.
