I knew what you were getting at, but I just felt like saying something. What you're thinking of is basically "hardcore" or "metalcore" or something along those lines which do suck a lot to me.
"Core", in my knowledge, is basically a label for a general genre of music like speedcore, trance, hardrave, happy hardcore, etc. I still listen to mostly J-Pop, some J-Rock, and bits of power/death metal here and there (oh my taste in music), so I don't know too many J-Core artists, really.
