In my AP Chem class, for instance, 80% is an A-, (and only two people had above 90%) whereas in all of my other classes, 89.5% or 90.0% is an A-.

Only like three or four people in our AP chem classes have above 90%, and 89%=B+. And all but one are sophomores who aren't technically supposed to be there, but took summer courses to skip out of biology or honors chem.
