Since I use a laptop, the keys are small and flat, and I can just slide up and down, whereas on a regular desktop keyboard it would be different and probably harder to do the same thing.

Hmm. Never thought of this. I'm able to FC stuff about as hard as Delirium using just standard 1-handed style, sliding my middle finger from the up and down arrows, but not much harder than that.

Practice, practice, practice. Don't forget to continuously challenge yourself, doing more difficult songs that really make you work to get a good combo. This is the key to improvement IMO.
