While I can't imagine any d7 players aren't playing on the standalone engine, it might be worth nothing that FFRmania will not load on the in-browser R^3 engine. Only the standalone.

This is a very stupid solution but it worked for me.
I was having the exact same problem, any song i opened it crashed. I think i asked hi19 and he told me, try minimizing after you open the song....
