Really, the law doesn't matter anyway, people still drink underage and this law may actually stop people from going "HOLY **** I CAN DRINK" '/alcohol poisoning' when they hit 21 in the states.

It's an absolutely horrible idea, and it absolutely won't pass in the state legislature or if a public vote is held on it.

They should raise the drinking age to ****ing 25 in my opinion.

EDIT: This post was said in jest for the most part. I'm not for raising the age to 25. I am more or less saying that lowering it is a bad idea.

Sure, people can GO TO FREAKING WAR and KILL a person at the age of 16, but GOD FORBID drinking underage. It's such a stupid law anyways.

Just because some morons don't know how to drink doesn't mean we all have to suffer. I actually hate beer but my parents occasionally give me wine which is pretty nice. I don't like it because of the alcoholic...I like it because it tastes good and the way it's drunk.

They're using the "there will be less drinking related accidents" as an excuse to get more tax of the alcohol providers, or w/e.

I agree with foilman, though it will never stop anyone from getting their hands on one.

I wonder how many supporters aren't younger than 21.

Drinking should be made illegal in general.
Not that I really care though, I'm not drinking if it's legal or illegal.

Re: Drinking age lowered to 18?

But then again, what makes 18 so different than 21, anyways? (Other than 3 years.) 18 is the point where one is considered an adult. So if said "adult" chooses to misuse the responsibility, then his/her consequences will fall upon his/her shoulders, because he/she is now an adult.

The same thing with gambling. If an 18 year-old wants to go in a casino and dump his/her money down a slot machine, again, the responsibility will fall upon his/her shoulders. In my opinion, it should teach the new adults responsibility and what they shouldn't do, or the limit for doing it if they decide to.

Re: Drinking age lowered to 18?

On one side, if they are old enough to fight for our country then they should be able to drink but on the other side 18 year olds(including myself) shouldn't drink because they aren't responsible enough for that, and are more likely to drink and drive.(maybe)

Drinking makes you drive.
