December 12, 2012

The prophecy of the Mayan Calender saying that the world will end on December 12, 2012 is very phenomenal. Most of us are not archaeologists or astronomers, anthropologists or astrologers. Yet the majority of what is written about one of the most exciting and relevant subjects of our day is the approaching Winter Solstice 2012 end-date of the Mayan Calendar. The Mayan calendar does not really "end" in 2012, but i'm thinking all the cycles turn over and start again, vibrating to a new era as in "Rebirth." Based on some facts, a U.S. Naval Observatory said that it happens about 11:11 pm and some scientists say it's 11:13 pm so the time 11:12 pm was the best guess at this.

There's been many theories about when the world would end. It largely depends on your belief system. You can believe that it will end at the end of the Mayan calendar, others may believe that there's some other significant date. I, however, think that it'll end when God says, "Time to pwn the planet earth."

If it really will end then.
I hope I get a heads up.

I don't want to die a virgin.

You have like 4 years Sarah, and I heard my friend talking about this.

I would have just turned 23 about a week before.

Again, I really hope it's not true.
But who really knows for sure?

The world could end tomorrow... the next day.
Hundreds of years from now, we really don't know.

Conspiracy theories and wacky doomsday prophecy aren't CT material.

Just because the Mayans had a mythological belief in existance moving through a number of "ages" of fixed length and just happened to have stopped their calendar system at a point that supposedly would contain both an important cosmological situation, and coincide with the end of one of those ages doesn't in any way shape or form suppose that they were "right" to assume that system of ages existed.
