One hand, or two?

I've got a few questions about using one or two hands to play FFR. Are there some songs that are better to do with one hand and vice versa? What makes them that way?

Also, when playing two handed, which hand do you put on which keys?

Just curious, as I've heard about playing two-handed; I use one.

I'm too lazy to make a table so...

One Hand

Pros:
- Can go up to 16ths at around 225 BPM
- Handles most patterns well
- Poses a challenge

Cons:
- Speed limit
- Cramps up shortly after tough patterns
- Poses a challenge

Two Hands

Pros:
- Can go as fast or faster as/than around 16ths at 300 BPM
- Can get around most patterns easily
- Overall best setup

Cons:
- May have trouble with spiros and pivots

Two Fingers

Pros:
- With practice, can go almost as fast as two-handers
- Very good with trills, spiros, pivots, rolls, etc...

Cons:
- Difficult to do fast turns
- Hard to master

That's about it.

Its just all about preference, I use one hand. I have a friend that started with one hand but moved to 2 and now he can masters songs. I couldnt make the change. It just depends.

Its up to you, however there's only so far 1 hand can go.

its how u feel comfortable playing....some of the harder songs i think are easier with 2 hands...but whatever floats your boat

when using the criss-cross way of the arrows (its cery, very difficult), the best ways is to have your right hand middle on the up key and right hand index on down key. the left middle for left key, and right middle for right key. try that way of arrows, and you will see what i mean.

oh, i use one hand, but i can use 2 hands as well.

well... Ive been playing for a while and yea if you use one hand it will cramp up after about 4 or 5 "very difficult or challenging songs" well for me anyways. It makes me mad to that I didn't start of playing with 2 hands. because for me it would be almost impossible to change now. I can basically hit any hard songs with 1 hand but have trouble keeping up in masters only ones. Maybe someday i will switch to 2 hands. If you are a light player I would say use 1 hand if you want to become a master one day use 2 hands.

For me, i use only 3 fingers about 8/10ths of the time, i use the index finger for the left arrow, i use my ring finger for the right arrow, and the middle for up and down arrows, with that setup ive combo'd all of For Great Justice's songs.

But some songs i rather have two hands on, like, Revolutionary Etude, or Caprice. but only extremely fast songs is when i use two hands, songs like For FFR i still use the 3 finger setup i explained earlier

and sometimes i like to go cocky and get in a DDR mood, so i use my index and middle finger only, in a position to they look like legs, and hit the arrows like one would with their feet if they were actually playing DDR

and when i get REALLY cocky, i'll go off and beat songs about the speed of Secret Zombie Room with one finger, nearly combo'ing it.

thats how i play, but its relle just a comfort factor.

i use the same one hand set up as shrimp, i dont play with two hands cause i know it'll be better if one hand can beat two :)
