Re: Simple Alternative for Key Remapping

This is an awesome program! I just have 1 suggestion

make it work for Resonance. AHK didn't work for resonance so maybe you can get it to work.

Re: Simple Alternative for Key Remapping

If it works for resonance then I will gladly take pleasure in destroying every score =).

Re: Simple Alternative for Key Remapping

Oh wait, it says in the first post that Resonance and R2 use low-level keyboard access and therefore it wont work

I said I'd fix up the 'Try Again' key today, but pub took priority. Maybe tomorrow...

Fantasticone: lol at the "MRichards is god" bit - that strategy might just make me try. Actually, I have been considering whether I can hook the keyboard interrupts themselves, and get low-level proggies to work too. Hmmm.....

Turboyoshi: I know this is all a little unfair on Mac & Unix peeps, but I just don't have the time / knowledge / equipment to port it to those platforms, sorry....

jwcgator: Glad that you approve, I didn't want to hack you off re: the AHK thing...

Nah see this is different, you actually WROTE this program. I just found this program and wrote a tutorial on how to use it :P.

Besides, this is infinitely better than AHK IMO.

Simple and effective... thank you very much. I used to use AHK but i think this is a bit less laggy.... doing better than usual.

Could you email me the source code then? I might be able to work something out of that.

turboyoshi: The source is on the webpage already

.david: Thanks for the positive comment, but I didn't find it - I wrote it...

Re: Simple Alternative for Key Remapping

New version (1.08):
- Added quick fix so 'Try Again' works without needing mouse over FFR window
- This allows use with FFR-Smooth
- 'Try Again' still a little dodgy, occasionally requiring more than one press...

I think I love you.

Gah, it just keeps getting better. xD

Just to say, this program is excellent. Nice and simple.

Also, just cause I'm lazy and don't feel like looking up the thread the smooth program didn't work for me. My videocard isn't boss enough. Would update once every 50 frames or so...

Bump. Why hasn't this been sticky'd. It would be a shame to see this get burried.

Re: Simple Alternative for Key Remapping

Wow, this is really quite amazing. Then again, I never tried this so-called "AHK" or remapping keys in general before, so I never realized how useful it can be. Regardless, the program runs smoothly and I don't see any major problems with it, aside from the fact that I have to turn it off when I'm not playing FFR, or else it interferes with my typing.

I can finally get some AAA's now, since my arrow keys bug out on me a lot, and with the remapped keys I don't need to use them anymore. :-D

Re: Simple Alternative for Key Remapping

Hmm, is it my keyboard, (which it probably is), or does anyone else happen to have sometimes ffr not record the keypress using this program? This never happens when i use the normal arrow keys (if I miss, I know/feel that I didn't press down the arrow key), but like I was trying to AAA this stupid song, and I go like 228 perfs then I get a miss. Nothing else, no good, no average, no boo, just a miss. This is like some difficulty 4 song, so there was no problem in reading it... Then I keep replaying it, and it happens again once in awhile... Maybe I'm not pressing down on the keys far enough or somthing, but I am just curious if anyone else has had this problem.
