End of World Scenarios

One of my former NS clanmates showed me this yesterday. It's a collection of scenarios in which the world could end, or at least have a huge disastor.

The first section is a collection of scenarios that could happen any time, today, tomorrow, 1000 years...

The 2nd section is things that may happen in the near future.

The 3rd section is things that WILL happen in the distant future.

Some of these are really scary, I suggest you read the one on meteros in the first section (WHAMMO!) The tidal wave one (FLUSH!) is also interesting and the Matrix type one (STOP!) is also neat to read.

Apart from being interesting to read these could also be good reference for future projects in school.

Lol it's the best! I love end of the world!

And that website was teh wierd...paranoid conspiracy freak much?

Kinda cool, though.

I think poles flipping is most likely. Well, they all have happened before so whatever happens happens I guess.

Cenright 01-15-2004 10:53 PM

Sounds neat. A lot of them ARE exaggerated for full impact as a worst case scenario, but the pole polarity revarsal would not do too much. It is like what Y2K would do to computers. (Boy that was stupid)

MalReynolds 01-15-2004 10:56 PM

The poles switching wouldn't really have any effect. Studies have shown that they have changed several times in the past, but nothing has really happened.

the core is the gayest movie ever... didn't it make eathquakes? I dunno, I refuse to watch it.

Look at the second post in this thread. Two times I was hoping that thing wouldn't be mentioned here.

Anticrombie0909 01-16-2004 04:13 PM

'The Core' was a really stupid movie. The first maybe, 15 minutes were cool, and it just went downhill from there. It's on my (short) list of all time worst movies ever, right up there with Daredevil and Dude, where's my Car?

Moogy 01-16-2004 06:38 PM

That site is very interesting...

BluE_MeaniE 01-16-2004 06:59 PM

But there're a lot of things he doesn't know about, and is wrong about.
For instance, he mentions mulitple times how plankton supply the oxygen of the world.
Aren't plankton fish?

Moogy 01-16-2004 09:39 PM

Um... no. They're tiny plants.

Thats algae dumass

WEll algae contributed a great deal to the making of the ozone layer....

Maybe they stopped or something

BluE_MeaniE 01-17-2004 01:13 AM

They are like tiny shrimp, I believe.
And Bean, I was saying he was wrong, and was talking about plankton, when he meant algae. But I'm not sure if I understood your post.
But if I'm wrong, I apologize. I was asking, to make sure. That's how you learn.
