Ghost Rider

Just got back from seeing it. Whoo boy did this movie make me want my $7 back. It's full of cliche after cliche after bad dialogue and crappy fight sequences. The only redeeming quality about the entire movie was that it made me laugh quite hard throughout.

Case in point: Ghost Rider sucks.

Re: Ghost Rider

I thought the commercials looked awful for this movie. I just got back from seeing it, and the movie was better than I thought it was going to be. I kind of enjoyed it.

Re: Ghost Rider

I'll admit GR had it's moments but they weren't good enought to satisfy me. I mean come on, where's the Blackheart that I know and love? That was not Blackheart and I curse anyone who says otherwise.

Did you really expect Nicolas Cage to be a good superhero?

They had a lot of bad fight scenes. They were all too short and not much fighting. Also, the part at the end, with the 3 minutes of Legion regenerating and then dieing almost as soon as he revives made me laugh out loud.

That movie was terrible.

Is this a movie about Ghost Riding Your Whip?

Re: Ghost Rider

I thought the commercials made it look decent.

Boy was I wrong.

I've only ever wanted to leave two movies: this and Van Helsing.

To Ghost Rider's credit, it took twice as long for it to make me want to leave as Van Helsing did (twenty minutes and ten minutes, respectively), but do not see this movie under any circumstances.

Just don't do it.

EDIT: "I kept hoping the Scooby Doo gang would come out, rip the mask off of Cage and reveal Ghost Rider really is crazy old man Ben Affleck! That would explain so much."

Re: Ghost Rider

The terrible "I feel like my head's on fire, but I'm fine" line that is in EVERY ****ING COMMERCIAL for this movie made me figure the dialog would be pretty terrible. That and the fact that it isn't X-Men or Spiderman.

PS: Nicolas Cage and Ben Affleck are not Marvel Superheroes who the hell cast these asswipes!?

EVERYTHING was bad about the movie.

The characters. I was excited to see Blackheart, but no, he was a total ***. Ghost Rider was totally lame, too.
The acting. Might I point to Blackheart and the wind elemental guy as prime examples, but this excludes nobody.
The romance. Hah.
The dialog. "So what are we going to do, Johnny?" "Yeehaw!", etc.
Eva Mendez. Only this movie could turn such a gorgeous woman so unattractive.
The antagonists. Mephistopheles never did anything and the main bad guys were all dispatched almost instantaneously.
The voices. Oh, God, Ghost Rider sounded so stupid, as well as any of the elemental guys.
The story. YAWNBORING. They took it nowhere.
The conflict. Oh, wait, there hardly was any. Internal? No. External? It was there, but taken care of with ease.
The fights. I shouldn't have to explain myself, here.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but if someone wishes to bring it up, I'll address it.

Van Helsing was the only movie I've ever seen with worse dialog than this one. Worse many other things, too, but dialog above all. It was excruciatingly painful to watch, and I actively tried to fall asleep during that movie to save myself the pain.

Re: Ghost Rider

Well said Guido. Hearing GR speak was like toture.

"YOU GUILTY!?"

WTF is he the Hulk now? Eva Mendez still looked smoking hot especially in that white dress she wore when she was interviewing Johnny before the Field Goal Jump. And the movie made no sense either. Legion comes out and Satan wants to give Johnny his soul back? I thought Blaze was supposed to kill Blackheart. Total bull****.

Well, actually, the only good thing about this movie is when GR flips off the police.

No! It was totally stupid and completely out of character!

In fact, I want to say it was only surpassed in stupidity by the "YEEEEEHAW!"

Third worst for me, behind Welcome to the Dollhouse and Van Helsing.

I don't have very high standards for movies, either.

joe, I'm curious what you could possibly have found redeeming in that movie.

I didnt really find anything redeeming about that movie, you guys are just over exaggerating.
Actually, the special effects are pretty good.

The worst movies I have ever seen are:
Epic Movie
Underworld
And some others I will not mention.

I WISH THAT MOVIE WOULD HAVE FOLLOWED THE ****ING COMIC BOOK STORIES!!!
I am a serious marvel fan, and own all of the marvel encyclopedias, and I know pretty much everything about marvel.

I could care less about special effects if everything else about the movie sucks.

Sam Riami officially hates you.

Ghost Rider was a failure from when it was announced.

GuidoHunter 02-18-2007 03:33 AM

Re: Ghost Rider

Underworld wasn't great, but it wasn't bad enough for me to start picking out things that horribly sucked about it, like Ghost Rider did.

Also, joe's opinion on movies has officially been invalidated since he doesn't like Army of Darkness.

As such, we are all in agreement that Ghost Rider sucked rotten donkey balls.

Guido and I are e-buddies 4 lyfe

Van Helsing is about the single worst movie ever, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who realizes this.

Re: Ghost Rider

The special effects for GR are good but not as spectacular as some people say it is. It's just another one of those brain-dead cgi action movies. Nicolas Cage is was really awful. He doesn't become the GR until an hour into the movie. When he is the GR its hard to understand what he is saying half the time(it was for me anyways) and the plot is weak.

Re: Ghost Rider

Hey, I liked Ghost Rider and I had fun seeing it. It was even more fun than that stupid review of the game Shadow the hedgehog which was done by X-Play. It was equally as fun as the game Shadow the hedgehog itself, but with a human instead of a human shaped hedgehog. I am going to see this movie again and I told people that they better see Gho
st Rider or Shadow the hedgehog will kill them.

Re: Ghost Rider

I watched it.

Yeah.

No comments on it really. Wasn't interesting, but I watched it all, so that's something. I think I managed to turn my brain off.
