Career
In this thread post what you would like to have as a career when your older. (Pizza hut, McDonalds for example doesn't count.) Or if you already have a career post what you do or if you don't have a career post that. Well when I'm older I think I'm gonna join the U.S. special forces (green berets). Infantry.
PS: I don't get the idea from Video Games and movies thats not why I want to join. |

Therapist, psychologist, psychaitrist, or researcher/research assistant.

Re: Carreer
Trauma surgeon/Genetic Engineer/Other M.D./Musician
Clearly confused but I am going towards the medical field. |
Re: Carreer
Game programmer. Ideally, developing new content for a MMORPG that I would want to play outside of work.
|
Re: Carreer
A nurse of some sort in the ER, OR, or ICU. I'll probably just be an RN for awhile though. Part of me wants to be a paramedic also.

Re: Carreer
I want to be a psycologist, but various people keep telling me that I should go into screenplay writing. X.x

Re: Carreer

I used to be on that path. I gave up. You really need to be smart. I wish you the best, though. |
Re: Career
Rocket Scientist.
2 more years of Aerospace Engineering and some sweet internships (which I'll hopefully be starting this summer) and I'll be there. Win. |
Re: Career
I'd like to be a nutritionalist, but I'd have to find something physical to do in my spare time. Being sedentary all day is far too boring.

Re: Career

Re: Career
I love the "when you grow up" theme.
Was Security Forces->OSI Enlisted->Now Air Force Academy Cadet Well I have a few options- it could go like this for the future. Pilot: Fighter/Bomber/Heavy->Squadron/Group/Wing Commander->CEO You see though, that's too boring, the end result anyway. I'm thinking one of the two following trees OSI Agent or Special Tactics Officer->CIA->Public Office Foreign Area Defense Advisor->U.N. Diplomat->Senator(Maybe I'll just stick with the U.N.) BTW, to become a Green Beret takes a lot, and it's good that you're thinking about it at such a young age. Make sure you're a physical beast, a mentally perfect person, and that you're extremely observant and intelligent. If you need tips on good workouts and techniques for something like that, or just a general idea of what your progression would look like, feel free to ask. I'll help you out. |
Re: Career
Some kind of science field: Volcanology, Biology, etc.
Game/Computer Programmer Some type of Math Teacher. |
Re: Career
To all the hopeful game designers: I wish you luck. Once you get into college you'll find out how unrealistic it is.
I switched from wanting to be a programmer to the following: Tech support (on-site), Network administrator, network security analyst, teacher. I really want to be a teacher but the pay is not worth compared to the others. |
Re: Career
Writer.
Failing that, actor. Failing that, radio personality. Failing that, corpse. |
Re: Career
I don't know what I want to be, which isn't a good thing.
I'd try my luck in art but it's just not an open field, there are only so many spots available in the field of art that'll pay more than just enough to live and I'm not going to risk it. Most people don't even consider freelance artists real workers, too... too many times people expect to rip freelance artists off by saying "oh, this can go into your portfolio, that's your pay" because they don't consider it a normal business practice. Lastly, traditional animation, what I'm really interested in, is dying, or at least a good portion of it is getting replaced by 3D animation, which is just... ugh. It would be nice, but it's too risky. "Something related to math" is the best description of a job I'll probably be going for. Math is another one of my talents and I'm sure there'll be a job available for me in the future in mathematics. Programming, network administration, anything. If worst comes to worst, I could always become a teacher. |
Re: Career
Mabey computers is a good job for you. I was thinking about that when I'm done serving my years in the U.S. Special Forces. Except I might need college for that job :( Do what bill gates did start your own software company. Good money.
