Time Travel
Time travel is a very big mystery in our universe and has yet to be explained. What do you people have/know/think about it?
I'd like to hear some of your thoughts. My idea is that you can do things twice at the same time because of alternate universes. I'll go into details later. Also, if you got the idea of going back in time because you read a book, and wanted to kill the author just to see what would happen, you wouldn't be able to because you would be changing a solid past. Since you can't change this past, you would get caught with attempted murder and sent to jail. The author comes to see who you are and what you are doing, you tell him, and it gives him the idea to write the book, in turn giving you the idea. |
Does it exist, or is it possible? There is a difference. Our society tells us time travel is impossible, due to Einstein's theory of reletivity. However, in the future? Who knows. I think we'll get there eventually.
|
Sounds good. I do think its possible. If you could create a small black hole, then it could be.
Thoughts anyone? |
i definitely think its possible. But im not sure it'll happen in our lifetime
|
"If time travel exists...where are all the time travelers?" I forgot who said that quote...I think hawking...
|
well
taking einstiens theory as you approach the speed of light, time travels faster...if you are of mass...so yea, if we could develop something to reach these speeds, we could probably travel forward in time. of course, thats alot more difficult than it sounds. The effects on humans after reaching these speeds? what would happen next? how would we go back in time? if there really a future to travel into? would we just explode or something cool like that? all questions nobody can really anwser yet... as for traveling back in time...possibly. maybe something insane like traveling into a black hole at over the speed of light and throwing off the gravitational balance and creating a wormhole into the past or some retarded shit like that who knows XD |
I wanna explode! :O
|
i thought we aged SLOWER as we approach the speed of light.
|
no, time speeds up. your mass will increase untill it is infinite and then you die.
as far as we know, it is impossible to slow time. thats why coming up with a theory to travel back in time is pretty hard...the worm hole shit i said above was the best i could think of XD |
Einstein's theory points out that if you go faster than the speed of light, time will flow backwards. It also says that if you go almost as fast as light, time moves forward. It also says if you go at the speed of light, you'll reach the end of time. The scary part is that whenever anyone attempted to prove Einstein's theories wrong, they only proved it more. But hey, if we can somehow go faster than light, which I think is supposed to be impossible, we could go back in time.
|
Maybe if light had sex with light we could go faster

there is a rule something with a mass cannot possibly travel faster than light. why? because once you reach light speed, your mass is infinite. which means yea...you're light...well...technically you're dead but anyway. traveling at the speed of light does the same thing. you CAN travel faster than light, you just won't go anywhere ;) (well yea, you'll go pretty fucking far, pretty fucking fast. nowhere time wise though :P) how? the rule doesn't apply to something without mass. so yea, there is no speed limit. they've already sucked light through a vacuum at 300 times the speed of light. it actually came out before you could see it move. teleportation dude |
anything that travels at light speed has infinite mass? hmmm sounds fishy to me...i dont think light has infinite mass
the only way to time travel is to go into a black hole and bounce out of it...now when you think about it, that is improbable...to get into a black hole and not be torn apart is one thing...but to bounce out of its tremendous gravitational pull is another...that theory seems to be the one most being tested by time travel scientists |
Ok ok, have you ever heard the analogy of the train and ball clock? Well it starts with this: Someone is on a train, and on the train there is a clock like a grandfather clock that has, instead of a pendulum, a ball that bounces up and down each second. For the person on the train, they see the ball bouncing up and down normally each second. Someone who is off the train though, will see it bouncing sideways-a lag in time. believe it or not, but someone on a train is actually .00000001 seconds ahead in time than the person off the train. Now, let's say that train goes very very close to the speed of light. The clock is moving with the train at this incredibly high speed. Smeone off the train will look at this ball and guess what he sees? The ball won't touch the bottom for about another 60 years. Now here it gets interesting. That person gets off the train 1 second later. For the person who wasn't on the train, the amount of time it takes for that ball to bounce and finish that second is about 60 years. When the person on the train gets off, 60 years would have passed for everyone else, and only 1 second for him. And this is true too, it's nt just a make-up story. Now what happens if you go faster than light? The ball will start moving backwards to the observer off the train, because the train is going too fast for the ball to reach the bottom and it tilts backwards-going backward in time. If you go at the speed of light, the observer off the train will never see the ball hit the bottom. The person on the train gets off a second later, and guess when he is? He is at the definition of the end of time. (This is also why if someone falls into a black hole, he will fall in and experience it, while a person on a ship observing him would see him floating next to the black hole until the end of time.) Now I didn't say that things with mass could go faster than time, but I'm just pointing out what would happen if something does. And I know I really didn't explain this well and anyone could find a million flaws, but the real theory has proof of everything I tried to say. And also, I know that trains cant move very fast and things like this don't happen, but I'm just giving an example 8)
|
lol yea...
ok maybe so....but, it won't happen, because something with mass can't surpass the speed of light. so...yea. and yes maka. thats why nothing with mass can travel faster than light. if you don't believe it, build some really fast ship, go full speed and see what happens...lol time travel scientists? lol and yea....i highly doubt they're testing to see if that works. |
The faster you go, the slower time goes.
So yes, theoretically, if you go fast enough, you could stop time, and then go back in time. Also, the faster something goes, the less mass it has, or something like that, I'm really not positive, so if you go fast enough to go back in time, you'll become nothing. But that's only in theory. In theory, communism works. In theory. But Einstein already said that. And then other people in this forum repeated it. And then I repeated them. I'm sorry, actually, for doing that. |

i think someday going back in time is possible, but never forward.
