Laws of War

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laws_of_war

This is generally a response to the "North Korea Spazzing Out" thread (which doesn't need to be bumped again). The thread was generally about the fact that N. Korea is threatening to some. Although most of us agreed that NK wouldn't use their nukes for no reason (The whole "Don't start nothin', won't be nothin'" analogy, I like to call it). But, even though I agreed that this is true, I couldn't find anything to hold them back. Now I've found it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laws_of_war

Quote:

Wars should be limited to achieving the political goals that started the war (e.g., territorial control) and should not include unnecessary destruction
Quote:

Wars should be brought to an end as quickly as possible
Quote:

People and property that do not contribute to the war effort should be protected against unnecessary destruction and hardship
I'm not saying that this'll hold NK (Or, for that matter, any supposed terrorist threat) back from possible non-provoked attacks, but a war against Korea can be supported across the planet, and if Korea loses, they'll be held responsible for the damages that they've done.

I may have read the data wrong, but I rest my case: North Korea makes a stupid move, we kick their ass. Any comments on this?
