TWG XXXIV Hosting

PM me if you want to host. No rules changes as of yet.

Sorry for the confusion, iggy.

EDIT:

iggymatrixcounter:

16 players:
1 prime seer
3 wolves
3 subseers (subseer1, subseer2, subseer3)

The game only ends for human victory if the highest ranking seer ends the game and the wolves are dead. (So prime seer can end the game via PM, but if he is dead then subseer1 can end, if he dies then subseer2 can end etc.) Subseer 2 cannot end the game if subseer 1 is still alive. The host will tell a seer via PM that he is the highest ranking seer when day starts (So the new seer won't know if it was the lynch or the wolfing that killed the higher seer)

If prime seer is dead then the highest ranking seer has the power to seer those who have already died. [Remeber game can only end if the humans know that the three wolves have died.]

If you die, you can still post in the thread and talk with everyone but you can't vote. Only those who are "alive" can vote.

Wolves will always send in a kill even if both have died, since the humans have to end the game.

Since the humans need at least one of the seers alive to win, the last living seer is immune to wolfings and lynching.

Wolves can still win by outnumbering the humans. The only way for humans to win is for them to kill all the wolves AND end the game.

As far as the humans ending the game and there still being wolves alive, I think it should be a one shot then you're done, but I think having two shots would also be fairly strategic. So I'm up for one or two shots here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

talisman:

16 players
----------

4 wolves
12 psychics lol

cardflipping following every death (lynch or wolf), shows the role of that player.

nocturnal posting (not voting) allowed.

should be a tough game for both sides. humans have time pressure to worry about, wolves have to always be thinking two moves ahead.

Well, that's all I got. Vote away. No idea when player signups should/will be, but that's for later!

Re: TWG XXXIV Hosting

lol wasn't expecting my game to be used. I made it just in case my first host signup thread yielded no other games.

I don't know how balanced it would be but seems to stick to the 'alliance hate' set up and allows for much discussion.

I do like the fact that the humans have to end the game after thinking they have all the wolves too, that should be good discussion too. I.E. wolves trying to end the game and humans having to have to find the wolves.

EDIT: might as well iggy

Re: TWG XXXIV Hosting

I really like iggy's idea, but I'm afraid or some tremendous imbalance, or logical flaws in the game's construction. What really bothers me is the fact that the last remaining seer can't die. If the wolves are all killed, the game could go on for days until the last seer is the only player left alive. It's a circumstance that may be used to ensure victory. To be honest, I don't want to see that happen. Plus, letting all the players (including dead ones) continue posting may cause confusion. The point of killing a player is keeping them quiet, removing a threat. What's to stop a wolfed player (a seer) from saying "Oh hay I was this seer and I seered this guy and this guy and they're human so don't vote them." Horribly unbalanced. Sorry to shoot you down, iggy. It's a great idea, but it needs refinement.

Oh, cardflipping? Cool. talisman.

Hm, yeah, I don't even fully understand iggy's game...

Plus, I've knocked cardflipping enough, so I'll give it a shot.

Re: TWG XXXIV Hosting

I think allowing the dead to post is a huge setback for the wolves, as it essentially renders their nightly kills meaningless. but I haven't really thought through iggy's game at all.

This is essentially the perfect game that I wanted to play like 5-10 games back. No chance of guaranteed humans until they're dead, and that's how it should be.

That's kind of the point. The humans need to either discern the wolves or actually find them all before game can end.

If that happened the humans would have already won it's just that it would stall along farther.

What would stop a wolf from doing the same thing?

But yea I do think it needs some/many adjustments, I'll work on it some more and if it looks any better I'll run it next game or something.
