Going to Japan
I found out about this trip way back in 2004. My family has been planning it for quite some time so I'm very excited to go. I am Japanese and I have never been to japan =O. I'm actually not quite sure what I'm going to be doing there because I don't have any living relatives over there but I do know we are going to go look at temples around the Kyoto area (from what I hear, there are A LOT of them) and then we end up in Tokyo at the end. I'm gone for the next 3 weeks starting tomorrow morning bright and early >.< Anyone have suggestions for things to do in Japan? Kinda late notice so thanks in advance. Yeah but you won't see a lot of me for the next 3 weeks so no more O_o for you.

Re: Going to Japan
Check out the arcades, check out the girls, check out the cafes, check out the girls, and count how many companies are in Tokyo. Did I mention to check out the girls?

Re: Going to Japan
I wouldnt really know what to go and do when you go to a place like that, seeing as how ive only been out of the country once. But like, go and look at all kinds of landmarks.. and take lots of pictures of stuff. Then when you get home, make a topic and post them all. When I went to Canada, i took like 90 pictures of different things we did there. Anyway, have fun.

Re: Going to Japan
If you have some idle time, check out Popeyes Internet Cafe in Kyoto. You should see people with signs directing you where to go. It's at the top floor of a clothing franchise. Unlimited icees, coffee, soda, tea and juice. Huge collection of manga, a playstation 2 and computer in every private booth. All for about 4 bucks and hour or something like that.

Re: Going to Japan
I've always wanted to go to China so I know little about Japan...but, just to inform you, this site: http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel...ide-Japan.html
is one of my favorite guide for travel tips, everything from lodging and food to tourist traps and sightseeing. It is all written by normal people, that live there or travelled there, and all out-of-the-way things you might have missed, along with the best shops and stuff, are included on the site. So good luck and I hope you have a great time and if you ever want to know some interesting facts or tips, check out the site. |
Re: Going to Japan

Re: Going to Japan
Probably a little late for this now, unless you took my advice on visiting Popeye's. But definately check out the Fushimi Inari Taishi. You'll probably die from dehydration from climbing up the hill, but it'll be totally worth it. Beautiful place.

Re: Going to Japan
I'm back. Sorry I don't have pictures at the moment because my dad decided to be gay and made me bring a disposable camera cuz "OH NOES YOU ARE IRRESPONSIBLE AND YOU WILL LOSE IT LOLZ YOU KNOW HOW MUCH IT COSTS? LOLOLOLOL" Had a great time. Flew into Narita, flew over to Osaka and went sight seeing in nara, kyoto, and some other places I can't remember right now. Then we took a bus over to tokyo. After a few days there I went to a worldwide scouting jamboree (yes I'm a boy scout and I do know all the stupid stereotypes but hey, I got to go to Japan didn't I?). Very cool meeting some japanese teenagers and just hanging out, seeing what we have in common and the things that are different. Unfortunately I didn't spend enough time in Kyoto Jewpin so I didn't get to visit those places. My family decided to go visit temples instead =/ I only got to explore around tokyo and a little in Nara.
