Re: Now I'm Pissed.
There's a thread about net neutrality in CT.

Re: Now I'm Pissed.
Guys...we WANT this to pass... if not, companies like AT&T can LIMIT our connections to large sites like Google.

Re: Now I'm Pissed.
LD, I'm glad this WASN'T passed by the House (although I know Fluorescent got his sides backward).
The solution to all of our problems isn't "Go get the government." http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=43567 --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |
Re: Now I'm Pissed.
Oh great... this means another wave of Americans moving to Canada... I still haven't gotten used to the first wave. Not that I mind Americans... it's just that I'm still a little disoriented when 1/10 kids in my school are from the USA.
EDIT: I better mention something else, so I'll say "It's a sad day for all citizens of the world when capitalisation of the world's only true international medium folds to the concept of a two-tier system. It's sad to think that the world I live in is being sold off to the highest bidder." |
Re: Now I'm Pissed.
Aasum, has there been a problem yet with some web pages loading slower? No, but the ISPs have been able to do that forever. Will there be a problem with it in the future? I highly doubt it. Highly.
Why is everyone crying so much when nothing's changed yet and likely won't? --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

It is, in fact, a big deal. |
Re: Now I'm Pissed.
You guys are too antsy. The way I see it, only a few of the ISPs will try to limit anything because if they do then they lose customers. I can see AOL being among these few.

Re: Now I'm Pissed.
It offends me, too, to think that the government is entertaining the idea of stepping in where it doesn't belong.
Also, all this discussion and attention is the best thing that could happen. If everyone knows about it and pays attention to it, then the ISP's can't sneakily charge extra. With all their customers watching them like hawks, the first move on their part will cause everyone to drop their service. Either that, or everyone will be completely content with paying for slow internet or basic internet. Neither of these outcomes is illegal or even bad. BTW: segue. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Re: Now I'm Pissed.
Well, we are talking about American law here. I can only assume that other countries can do what they want with regard to regulating their proper ISPs.
And so far, nothing's changed. American ISPs can still charge what they want for the services they give. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |
Re: Now I'm Pissed.
