Ninja Gaiden Black
http://users.aol.com/bloodriot/NinjaGaiden/Normal.jpg
Username: Thorn40 Anyone else played much of it? Right now I'm on Master Ninja Mode, and it's hard as hell. Can't get past the first damn level. Flame ninjas... |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
I remember reading a rather awesome thread made by Kefit about this game and his experience on Master Ninja Mode. Maybe someone can find that and bump it up.
EDIT: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=37601 I found it worth the read, and I don't even have Black. |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
ive never gotten into Gaiden is it any good?
|
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
I've been looking into buying black for a while now. I have the original, but I hear it just isn't the same. Whenever I get about $40 extra i'll porbably go out and get this and another random game. but yeah, talk to Kefit, he probably knows the game better than anyone on this site...

Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
layl chapter 1 Master Ninja flame ninjas of doom.
There are two ways to do this: the hard, fun way, and the easy, boring way. The hard fun way is to take the Lunar or nunchukus and go crazy, stretching your NGB playing skills to the limit. Note that I didn't have enough skill to successfully do this until after I had finished MN. The easy boring way is to spam wall attacks with the Dragon Sword until everything dies. Rinse and repeat. Oh, and if you think this is hard, just wait until chapter 10 ;D ps my epic Master Ninja experience journal that Lain linked to contains some spoilers as far as "WHAT THE **** IS THAT ENEMY DOING HERE" goes, so read at your own risk. |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
I think I need training. More training than I have now definately. I'll go on a few very hard runs and maybe they'll help.
And from another forum: Written by Spark0 "First I'd like to point out this is an update and an expansion and is in no way a sequel. Ninja Gaiden included: Ninja Gaiden is almost completely included, the AI has been upgraded, there is a new weapon and there are new enemies on hard mode. New weapons: Plasma Saber MKII, Lunar staff. New modes: Master Ninja Mode, Ninja Dog Mode, Mission Mode. What are these new modes? Master Ninja Mode is something that will bring you to the floor in tears while Ninja Dog Mode is an easy mode that is about as diffucult as most games on normal. Mission Mode gives you 45 new missions and hurricane pack 2 unlockable at the end for a total of 50 missions involving combat with normal enemies or bosses with normal enemies on the side. Can I play the missions in multiple diffuculties? Yes, they are playable in Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Master Ninja modes. Succesibe play has been removed so people will be constantly challenged (that's my theory at least). Intercept from the hurricane packs has been removed, as it made the game to easy. A new projectile weapon, Smoke Bombs, have been added. New Costumes: Ryu has a few new combat fatigues to don in battle, these are unlockable thorugh both story mode and mission mode. New Ultimate Technique (UT) system: UTs now self charge as well as use essence, a good player can make use of this. The original trilogy has been removed as unlockables, they have been released as legal ROMs however, so get what are the superior versions anyway. [Not so sure about that.] Ninja Ryuken (the original Ninja Gaiden) for the arcades has been added as an unlockable with 2 player co-op included. The game now uses the vastly improved camera from hurricane pack 1. There is a DOA4 trailer accessible from the main menu. New enemies: There are a few new enemies that will test your ninja mastery even more. New bosses: A new boss, Nicchae, was added as well an off the horse phase for the red samurai (he is just like a ninja, but can take much more punishment). Command change: A few commands were changes you moves, because of this the gullotine throw now directly compliments the wind run. New custscenes: There are a few new cutscenes in the game, all in game and none of them change the story. I think I got them all, but if I forgot anything, feel free to add, once again keep bumped." |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
Nah, if you could get through the Core and the boss string on top in Very Hard then you are perfectly capable of working your way through Master Ninja. Chapters 1 and 10 are incredibly retarded, but the rest of the chapters are just logical extensions of the difficulty they presented in Very Hard.
One of the best parts of NGB is that the difficulty is scalled so wonderfully. Chapter 1 of Master Ninja is made to make people panic and **** their pants, but it really isn't THAT bad if you either know what you are doing or just allow yourself to cheese out a bit. |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
Maybe. But then again, when I went through the core, I used the Unlabored Flawlessness exclusively. Unless there were ghost fish.. then I used the shiny and wonderfully skinned Plasma Saber MK2.
|
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
You used the Plasma Sword against the ghost fish? Oh dear god your plays through this game must have been painful.
The secret is Vigoorian Flair A X (land) XXX A X (land) XXX A X (land) XXX A X (land) XXX GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO until they are all dead. |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
Actually, it wasn't painful at all. Apparently the Ghost fish are buggy or something. If you jump and use the X slash for the dragon sword/plasma sword, they don't bite you when you land. You just keep jumping back and forth doing that. You can even using the flying swallow. They'll all surround you to bite you but for some reason, they can't.
|
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
I know that.
It just takes a million years, since you only kill one fish per jump. The Vigoorian Flails get the job done much, much faster. |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
True enough.

Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
I feel elated. Even though I had already beaten Very Hard, I was annoyed at not being able to beat the stadium challenge. Before continuing on (and later beating) Very hard (and missing the Archive challenge which I now realize is only availible in chapters 6 and 7..) I saved before the stadium challenge. So whenever I felt I could or whenever I needed a death wish, I could play it and annoy myself. Earlier today I surprised the hell out of myself when I beat it using only 4 Elixirs. That's it. And didn't even use a ninpo. It was my third or fourth time attempting it. Third outside of going through on very hard. I'm happy with myself.
Sidenote: At the save point on Master Ninja. Should make it through Murai really soon. |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
The stadium challenge is a complete bitch on VH.
Luckily it is far easier on MN, since you can use the platforms to stay unhittable against a single on screen Berserker, and there are no Ogres present. MN Murai is a really fun fight. It is quite challenging, but is easier than getting to the first save point fighting normally (ie no wall attack spam). Oh, and have fun with the archive challenge when you get there :> |
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
By the way, I was reading your guide and it said the Missions kinda bored you. I'd run through it on normal just to get the costume from Eternal Legend. Unless you've already done that and or your friend sold said Xbox.
|
Re: Ninja Gaiden Black
I ran through them on normal. Wasn't all that hard, although I could easily see how some of them would be ****gay retarded on high difficulties (why hello there Giants of the Underworld 5 how are you doing today it's so nice to see you). I still think they are really boring.
And my friend with the XBOX moved to a place I am not very comfortably spending lots of time in, so I don't exactly have access to this game anymore =/ |
