Re: i'm going to go ahead and say this right now

Once i started playing harder songs it only took me a few months to start getting good ****ty scores. I'm not doubting it. Plus some of them have been playing before and posting in other places. Not like even matters.

I remember someone saying that newer people have a lot more simfiles of various difficulties to practise on, so they can improve faster, while the veterans had to do it with max300 and DDR steps for a long time.

Some people on this site are so retarded it isn't hard to believe they're BS though.

Don't you worry, guys, I'm not going to be AAA/AAAAing anything for ages, as it is my PA stinks and playing spread doesn't help.

Generally, I think you'll find when you get to more advanced songs spread > index. Index is just a lot easier to learn. I'd recommend you stay learning spread, seeing as when you get to songs like Holy Thunderforce with Jumps in 16th streams, it get's very difficult.

Re: i'm going to go ahead and say this right now

I'm going to keep spreading because I find indexing absolutely awkward after having as many fingers as there are keys to hit for so long.

And hitting hands is fun.

Hope nobody's calling BS on me--I made vids (forgot to show judge ini but hell you can see my fingers and hear keytaps and etc) and if you really want you can look up my old topics and see that I've been making steady progress.

Ok good, lol.

And by the way, no new people are claiming to be at tsutter's level, except Skika and everyone knew he was fake.

I've been making steady progress too, and I've been posting topics for my scores for the past 4 months on there [after playing for 5 months before-hand] and you can tell from them that I have made steady progress as well. There wasn't a point in between each thread I had made that was like a huge jump or anything, I came to where I am over a large amount of time and practice.

Not to mention Life 1.6 on your ini.

That doesn't make a difference for timing though, and besides all the other life settings were at default so whatever. But that's not the point, the point is that I HAVEN'T just started playing like one month ago, i've been playing for almost 10 MONTHS now, and considering the amount of time I have spent playing Stepmania is the amount of time people wouldn't have done in over a year of playing the game. So based on that, I have well over a year of experience of playing the game.

yea I don't see why ppl who have been playing for only a few months can nearly AAAA like 200bpm 16th stream stuff.

My scores are so bland, It would be hard TO call my scores BS. Well except that V3 score. I seriously think I went SS3 on that song from annoyance.

This is very much true. People who start playing nowadays have Marvelous timing and see how the good guys have really good timing. Back in the day everyone didn't even use marvelous timing and it wasn't even included in stepmania at first. When you guys like hayden, emccky, nima, etc (actually me too but I was not a part of the community) started they didn't have any guys that had crazy MA around, people were just trying to hit all the arrows and possibly get as few greats as possible. I'm not sure about this part but I don't think the community was that active either, was it?
Anyways the biggest difference must be the songs. People who start playing now don't have to set their aim at passing BMR's V and A, there are an insane amount of songs for all different skill levels. It's so much easier to just play lots of different stuff, you don't have to whore out the ddr songs that are all on a similar level of difficulty except for like, 5 of them.
For example I had a friend over today and before he was going to leave we played a bunch of stepmania-songs. Two weeks ago he was around the skill level to play DDR sevens, today he passed Haydens high, Break Ya Neck, Open Your mind and songs like that and was never even close to failing.
It's way easier to progress nowadays.
