Stop

Reporting posts that bump topics yet:

1. Stay on topic
2. Contribute something to the thread
3. Aren't completely stupid

Thank you,

Specforces

Re: Stop

Do you consider bumping an old topic bad right now? I mean...in Critical Thinking we have already discussed most topics. So bumping the topic should be exceptional as long as we post something helpful to the thread.

Is that what your trying to say?

Re: Stop

No, I'm saying the exact opposite. I'm not going to point fingers, but certain individuals keep reporting the bumps and it's a waste of my time to consider them infractions, not in this forum. I would encourage such bumps.

Re: Stop

Oh I see, so your saying people are getting angry because certain people are bumping very old topics. So you're trying to point out it's okay as long as they contribute to the thread?

Re: Stop

Yes, exactly.

I took the same course of action as Spec.

CT is like Media. Slow forum. If someone has something relevant to add, let them. As long as the bump is relevant, I will allow it.

No more reports plz kthx

Re: Stop

Likewise... then again, I don't think I've ever seen a worthwhile bump.

Re: Stop

Some old topics like the Alien Life thread still have some discussion left in them Tass.

Re: Stop

I was banned for no reason! I posted a perfectly valid reply and I was accused of bumping! I figure that all these threads should still have some life in them... so I replied...

If someone wanted the thread to stop, can't they just lock it?
(I can see myself being banned again for asking a menial question and not contributing but w/e...)

Re: Stop

It's mostly likely because you're bumping too many topics at once. As of right now(Or as I type up this post) there are at least 4 topics that have been bumped by you. It's acceptable, but your post has to contribute to the thread. Try sticking to one topic for a while and don't try to bring up so many discussions at once.

Re: Stop

Ok, so does that mean that I can go pick out 10+ old threads and bump them with a one paragraph response that adds next to nothing?

It sounds like that would be ok as long as it adds something and isn't completely stupid.

Re: Stop

Good point. I'll only add something when I think I have something to contribute now...

Thanks for clearing that up!

Re: Stop

You do realize that your post was over a week after the previous one and contributed nothing useful to the topic, right?
