Stepfile Theory

Greetings all.

I've been wondering for sometime now. Why is their no article in wikipedia on Stepfile Theory? There is so much to know about writing stepfiles, and how to time certain notes and steps.

I know their have been posts on FFR about stepfile theory. I ask everyone to post their thoughts on Stepfile theory, so we can compose a respectable article about their creation.

I feel this falls into critical thinking, since it takes so much thought to make a good stepfile that fits a song.

The reason "Stepfile Theory" doesn't have a wikipedia article is because it's difficult to explain in a manner that doesn't sound really vague. Plus, no one really cares. People only start to care about being "technically accurate" once they've been doing it for a long time.. because by that time, you've gotten so much crap from people about what's fun, what isn't fun, what people want or don't want to see.. and every other form of criticism you can think of. Technical accuracy allows you to make much of it objectively, which is a hell of a lot easier than saying "this is an index file" or "this is a four finger file".
