D2 Snowblind, I think D4 was The Crow's Newspaper.

I've been thinking it would be nice if these stayed in an official list for past tournaments, I really wasn't sure what to expect when I signed up.

I think you very much underestimate how much of a pain in the ass streets is to AAA

DAMN-- is it like the fingerprint "tip" or straight up like the top part of the finger? Cuz regardless hope it heals well!

Thank you so much!~ I work in a restaurant, I basically cut off about half the fingernail and flesh under it and at an angle. Didn't hit bone, but it's way too painful to play. Thankfully I managed to get safe for this round I think using my ring finger/middle finger, going to keep going as long as I can ^w^

Small Journey wrecked me last round, can't wait to see what wrecks me this round; I'm gonna have fun this round but jesus christ that last song was... a c h a r t. Every section in it demolished me in one way or another but that OHT was something else. The jumpstream at the end also wasn't very kind.

I watched one of your replays and saw you played a song with a 0.9-frame judge offset, I could never AAA something with that much judge offset. Maybe subtract your judge offset from your global offset to get a new global offset, and set your judge offset to zero? Everything started to feel right once I figured out that global offset and judge offset weren't doing the same thing. Apologies if you've already dialed this in and your system just needs a big judge offset.

The only issue is jacks, my finger isn't accustomed to speed, but I've been practicing fast songs the past few days, i barely scraped by the last round >w<
(My injured finger keeps trying to play XD)
I may end up backing out of the tournament, not sure yet.. I'll see if I can improve my score, if not, I'll call this a pretty good first tournament and bow out. :3

I loled at my pc when I saw the post. I think you are right at the same time even my computer indeed totally sucked when it comes to offset and judge offset - hm, how to say this is, It is when everything is zero, you see with your eyes that the arrow hits amazing above the receptor arrows, and the song is so offset that I can hear it, at least half a beat off...

Both the offset and the judge offset was terrible to tune at the start. However I at the same time increased the judge for faster arrow hits hoping for a few more perfects. It might have affected performance, but my terrible key aiming at fast notes is what killed the whole song. Or maybe sometimes I don't know what is the real factor lol, or maybe a large portion of both factor -_-

I might try get 0.2 off the judge offset and increase 0.2 to the song offset, and see if it works better.

Truth (xKore) is prolly one of the funnest mid-60's out there, I strongly urge you to give it a play every now and then even after the tournament's over cuz it's got so many different patterns to practice. It took me ages to get myself because of the 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 with the purple notes in the middle of the breakdown.

While you're at it, if you're still gonna try to get the tourney song, I'd recommend playing some other songs around its difficulty level to see if there's somethin similar to Truth that you can try that may have slightly different patterns. The mid-60's is the best place to do that since there's just so many songs so experiment if you're up to it. : P

For some reason, I'm just really bad at Automata. I think I must struggle with patterns where the rhythm goes all over the place. It's pretty common to see with dubstep and garage and I haven't had too much trouble with those songs to date, but I guess adding jackhammers and jumpstreams into the mix just makes it tough for me to learn it or sight read.

frfr no matter how many times you practice a section or the chart itself nerves are gonna bite you every time, I have the same problem. Cest What's just entirely nerves layered with some hella technical bullshit so the sooner you figure out how to ignore nerves (if that's even possible, idrk if it is) or use it to your advantage the better cuz the scores you get on adrenaline are NUTS, at least in my experience.

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament

D1's song is ridiculous not gonna lie

D3's song is also highkey nuts. Hardest green-note swing chart in the game I'd say.

D5 onwards is how it do but the stream in D6's song is ridiculous, especially the one going into the jumptrills cuz I can't figure it out for the life of me.

Dan imo knowing how stuff works here D3's prolly mid-70's early 80's, it's definitely a doozy with the poly's on the purple. That's where I got most of my goods.

MonkeyFoo 04-28-2020 02:46 PM

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament

Dance with 12 Gauge is a solid song. It's less tricky than the last one, Rainbow Tylenol, so I'm pretty sure all three of us in D2 could AAA it if we worked at it. It's going to be an exciting matchup.

69/70 was where I'm at on it definitely nowhere near 80 I could maybe level with it being in the low 70s

if you guys in D2 can AAA those bursts you don't belong in D2

The bursts are short, so it should be possible to get muscle memory working from slowed-down practice. The notes don't come nearly as fast and dense as, say, that burst near the beginning of TGWP part 1. I'm talking lots of practice here, I can't even FC it yet.

That said, I've seen a lot of people hit new personal bests through this tournament, myself definitely included. I love the way the competition is pushing everyone to improve.

I've been running tournaments since 2009, I'm aware people grow some significantly so. But you're saying all of you left in D2 should be able to AAA, which I disagree with. You're a bit of an outlier in your group and had a pretty significant skill boost. I also think you may be underestimating 12 gauge a bit, plus generally below D4 most struggle with bursty patterns.

Either way good luck on the grind.

hi, prolific simfiler, high-level player and content judge here; please stop shitting on people who work hard to make good content

as a person who hasn't even dabbled in creation of charts, your overtly negative and uninformed opinion means absolutely fucking nothing (treat content creators rudely, get treated rudely back)

If that's not enough, you can also set each of the confusing colors to show as blue. I had a lot less trouble with Fast Rap Battle that way.
