okay so are cherry trees and cherry blossom trees/sakura the same thing or not?

do cherry blossom trees/sakura also have cherries and are they the same thing as cherry trees, or are they completely separate trees that don't have any fruit?

Many of the varieties that have been cultivated for ornamental use produce small, unpalatable fruit. Edible cherries generally come from cultivars of the related species Prunus avium and Prunus cerasus.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prunus_cerasus

In short, yes, they have fruit, but its not good to eat. The cherries that you know and maybe love come from similar trees.

We owned a cherry tree at my old house and it didn't bloom like
The concept of pretty cherry trees is better fulfilled by apricots

You're asking about people's personal experiences about the difference between sakuras and cherry blossom trees? I don't quite get you there.
