It's a level 90 quest that is a part of the main story quest for Explorers.

When you hear this song in Maplestory, you are walking through your hometown, seeing it burned down from the Black Mage. Really hit the feels.

you also find out a main character from the story isn't real.

Never heard this song before either and I have several 90+ explorers.. but then again I never have game music on anyway :3

Aside,
I guess I don't really find any of these songs (or really any songs in general) sad or depressing by themselves. Only when context is introduced does the song become sad or depressing. For example, My Heart Will Go On is, by itself, a very inspirational and uplifting song. However, when played at the end of Titanic, I'm a goddamn blubbering crybaby because I'll be damned if it's not the saddest song in the world. Lavender Town, sure it's spoop, but I don't get suicidal thoughts hearing it, as others have claimed. Maybe I'm just heartless, but yea, I apparently need some context to feel saddened or depressed by a song.

This is the most depressing song because whenever I hear it I know I'll never have true friendships like in the video :(

i don't think i've ever done that quest; i'm level 159 but i got to level 120 about 4-6 years ago so maybe i didn't get the quest since i was already higher than level 90 by the time the quest came out

i'm not sure though

context can add alot to a song. I kind of feel the same way about the ending theme to The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya although that's probably more to do that I'm a sucker for that franchise then anything

Oh I missed this.

Yeah the Johnny Cash one with the music video and knowledge of how he actually lived his life hits me in the feels.
