Magic online sucks horseshit. Seriously.

Buy the cards, play the game.

And all the new cards suck. If its after Mercadian Masks, it SUCKS. SUCKS. The new rules suck. And apprentice probably uses the new rules. So Apprenctice probably sucks.

K.

Rustingmoon 08-18-2004 05:31 PM

Apprentice is able to go by any rules, since it isn't programed to automatically do anything.

Omeganitros 08-18-2004 05:46 PM

Decided to give it a try.

I have it installed. Just opened the program. What do I do?

Edit: Figured it out. Wow, this has alot of cards.

4th edition was Magic at its finest. Every card with a superpower had a balnce to it. Take Lord of the Pit for example. 7/7 black flying creature, but you had to sacrifice a creature every turn to it or else it did damage to you. It was a beastly card, but it had a price.

Similar is Elder Land Wurm. 6/6 white trampler for only 6 mana, but it couldn't attack until assigned as a blocker. Cards like that made the game fun. There wasn't stupid crap like Platinum Angel out there.

YOU CAN'T LOSE AND YOUR OPPONENTS CAN'T WIN? That would be an interesting card if it required you to remove all your permanents from the game or something.

RobbyZero 08-18-2004 05:49 PM

I used to play the real card game. Then I sold my cards for 30$ and it made me happy.

I'm auctioning some of my cards. Wrath of God (1st Ed.) for 100 bucks, and might go higher.

Yes, but the amount of artifact hate in Type 2 decks makes the ability not so great. Platinum angel doesn't even cut it in competitive Type 1 decks.

The Sixth Edition rules revision was the best thing to ever happen to Magic.

And the cards they are coming out with now are just as good and fun to use as they have always been. For type two that is, which is the only worthwhile way to play Magic anyway.

QreepyBORIS 08-18-2004 07:20 PM

I have 2 Sol rings. Go me.

Omeganitros 08-18-2004 07:38 PM

Nice touch, it even has the 1996 Champion card. Haha.

I wonder if Chaos Orb works...

Nope, there's a list of unplayable cards. Many because they require removing them from your deck if not playing for ante, many because they're weird in their rules (like Chaos Orb), many because they're joke cards from Unglued that don't work (like Ashnod's Coupon - how do you get target player target drink in a virtual game board?), and at least one because the game software is not sophisticated enough to support the complex rule of the card (Scherezade, the simultaneously most annoying and most unique card in Magic history.)

Oh, and Platinum Angel is pretty hard to get in Type 1 decks. Platinum Angel + Diplomatic Immunity is pretty unstoppable.

Chromer 08-18-2004 08:13 PM

Uhhh the only card game I remember how to play is Pokemon. O_o But that was a long time ago.

Master_of_PARANOiA 08-18-2004 10:16 PM

I already owned Omega straight to hell.

NEXT VICTIM.

DataXUnknown 08-18-2004 10:20 PM

I've had my cards for ten years... Over 4,000 of them. I keep them as a great childhood memory. It was probably the best game ever back in like 1994. It was just like skatboarding..."It's cool when they first come out, and not many people know about them, then everybody gets into them which makes it then suck." I'm sorry but I didn't see any 5 year olds skatboarding when I was a kid. In other words, Magic is uber old, and only the old cards are awsome. =)

*EDIT* Plus, I don't like playing cards on the computer. Cards are not meant to be played with computers, nor "Dual Discs", lol, Just cards and a hard surface is all you need..
