Nah, he's not the only D7 player in D6 and I don't think we have seen the top 16 play at their best yet. The first 3 rounds have been too easy to get a good idea of where they are.

very interested to see where the second half of the tourney takes D6. could be dano, could be an upset dark horse, never know.

I played the D6 file again and even though it looks to me like it should be hard for you guys I get this feeling somehow you're all going to kill it anyway.

@Kayla - Welcome to D6!

Well, good luck to everyone in D6. I'm done playing. I just can't push harder than I have. Anxiety issues stirring up :( Oh well, gave it my all. Good luck!

D6 should be on like an 87-89 by now or else it will be SDG land again.

EDIT- Originally said 86 but upon thinking, that's probably too low as well

Re: 11th Official Tournament - Round 3

I too give up.
I cannot seem to even break 105 goods..like literally every time I play it I get exactly 104-105 goods and this file really hurts my hands to just grind away at.

I've isolated my trouble sections, taking them down to rates where I can AAA and slowly moving upwards to 1 but during the actual full run they just never happen, mirror doesn't work, hidden fails me, column colors yielded no results, and halved barely did anything noticeable. I even went as far as to try downscroll in my desperation.

You win bmah.

if this round 4 d6 file is considerably harder than the first three rounds, this will probably be the first good indication of who the frontrunners are gonna be

of course though it's just one file so it might not be to every players taste/skillset

I originally had this file as an 84/85 but seems from others it's more like an 86 so it was moved to the upcoming round which my projected difficulty for was 86/87 anyway.

Definitely not instantly playing at a D4 level, and I would not place him D4 based on his current ranks.

If an 86 is too low for D6, I'm done joining official tournaments. Seriously, lol. There should be no reason for that. If people are AAA'ing or low sdg'ing 86/87s they should be put in D7 without a doubt. Plus, since tournaments are supposed to be challenging, make them work for it in D7. Breezing through 4 or 5 rounds of a tournament isn't right at all.

86/87 is not and has never been the entry point for D7, even with AAAs... D6 is just stacked to the fucking brim at the moment, and adding divisions is not the answer, either.

D7 has always had a substantial level of exclusivity.

Re: 11th Official Tournament - Round 3

I never said it was an entry level for D7. But, if that is too "low" of a score where people are AAA'ing that type of difficulty in the 2nd highest division, then (judging by the fact that tournaments are supposed to be "challenging") then start off Round 1 with an 85 for D6. Seriously. Why continue going onto a difficulty that is "too low" for a division that has obviously shown that this tourney so far is "easy?"

EDIT: Also I never suggested adding a division, either.

His performance on the current song is very close if not there already though.

Because like in many other divisions, there are large discrepancies between what a lower-end and a higher-end player can do. In order to give the lower-end players a fighting chance, the files need to be set in a difficulty level where there's an opportunity for them to survive. It should not be an immediate slaughter for the players who are in the lower end where they have legitimately no shot at moving on because the skill curve within the division is too sharp.

This is the embodiment of FFR official tournaments: those who are high in their divisions are allowed to fight in a highly competitive environment, but those who are lower in their divisions have substantial time to hone in on their abilities and potentially catch up to the players who were once ahead of them. Any player within their division can become a formidable force with effort, and there are many players who have done so in their respective divisions in the past.

EDIT: Also, keep in mind - despite the issue with round 3, the first and second rounds were very much accelerated compared to previous tournaments. The difficulty increase that you are suggesting has happened, but not as severe as your are implicating.

Don't forget they only have a finite number of complete files to work with, and only so much foresight on how each file will be treated by the players.

Being in the lower echelon of a division is hard, trust me im aware. But the better you work with you're conditions the more rewarding the literal and metaphorical payout will be.

Also, thank you for making this point, because this is so much harder to deal with than most people realize... D:
