Wrist pain

Okay, so I'm getting back into stepmania. Had an intense session on SMO the other day, and had an incredible run. I was jumpstreaming, roll-hitting, all of that. I almost AAAd Thrillseeker from nb5!!

But today, I woke up, started playing, and now my left wrist is sore. Super sore. I can still do stuff like SDG plastic mind, but I'm definitely feeling a bit crippled. Should I be worried?

That happens after playing intense stuff to me alot too and it's never really developed into anything so I wouldn't worry.

Just take it easy next time fam

Maybe you should try playing with fingers instead

I get that a lot. Usually just take a break for a few days and then it's fine. When it gets really bad I have to take a break for a week sometimes if I force myself too much. Gotta know your limits.

Re: Wrist pain

As a player with RSI/CTS, you should not be worried about a sore wrist unless you stopped playing after feeling the pain x amount of days later. Charts that are challenging should result in soreness, especially if you 1) haven't warmed up and 2) train muscle memory to increase your skill.

If you stopped playing for several days and still feel pain, you should express concern and find a doctor or consultant. Personally, the pain I receive from pushing myself on challenging charts debilitates my hand to where I cannot perform daily routines like lifting something heavy with that hand, etc.

Hopefully that gives you some insight on it and I hope your wrist feels better.

These three wrist stretches are a great way to help prevent any pain from playing the game. Do them and then take about a half hour break before playing and you should feel great! http://www.meleeitonme.com/beware-of...ng-and-breaks/ (skip down to the images)

Same exact thing happens to me, only while I'm playing. Except with me it's on my left arm. What's odd is that playing more seems to help the pain.

Same with me :D I only use my left hand to play so it takes more strain than the right. Though if ur left arm hurts then that means that ur not resting ur arm and straining to lift it up, or ur not so chill when u play. Rest ur arm and it should be a little bit better.

Chill, don't lift ur fingers up too much from the keyboard so the wrist doesn't get too much stress from the wide and speedy finger-joint movements, and chill again.

Well thats what I try to do . . . XD hehe

Argh. I love these wrist stretches, but I can't always do them because I had surgery on my wrist in 2014 and subsequently lost some of my flexibility. The extensor stretch in particular I'm starting to think is out of my range, as I can sometimes do the prayer stretch.
