guys

I'm stepping Trapped in the Closet Full Edition.

it's 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 37 seconds long.

Rate my crazy on a scale from 1 to Gaben.

playlist is here if you want to hear it

reason why I made this thread was to ask what is the maximum amount of notes you can have in a stepmania file without it crashing again?

Re: guys

I believe the maximum it can handle is like 100k notes.

gold stinger 01-27-2015 10:05 PM

Re: guys

I thought the maximum was some awkward number up around 75k (75,845 for example)

Re: guys

I gave up after a minute, when does he get trapped in the closet? Does he ever get out??
Are there shoes in the closet?? I bet there are probably some

but why? I'd listen to it if there were arrows involved, but why are you doing this?

gold stinger 01-27-2015 10:17 PM

Re: guys

Because I kind of wanted to step it like 3-4 years ago but the HD copies uploaded by Vevo are cut off & shitty, so I dropped it for other stuff, looked back on it, tried looking for a DVDrip for it, and got it.

And with a lot of patience in Audacity I was able to slice together a seamless 2 hour and 8 minute mp3 file of Trapped in the Closet, which would otherwise make up 33 parts of musical mayhem with each part lasting approximately 3 and a half minutes, and 4 extra sections each 1 minute long known as "the confessions".

Re: guys

you didn't answer the questions that actually needed answers though

Re: guys

'trapped in the closet' is a play-on sentence meaning stuck in the privacy zone, as in there's danger in privacy/relationships, which is what the 33-parter portrays. A series of unfortunate relationship cheatings all uniquely connected to one another. It's a soap opera entirely done in E minor & rhyme.

He doesn't necessarily get out of it, but he does get put in a closet in the first chapter which he does come out of.

I would probably guess there are shoes in the closet, but they are not important to the matter that is being sung.

also all of your questions r dumb ok

I know. Also thank you for being mature and actually explaining it to me

I didn't have the patience to sit through it and make any sort of conclusion for myself

I don't know for certain, but I did see some stuff about it on the forums before (and just searched it to reaffirm this).

Alright, so according to Stian, a song can't go after 100k notes into the song.

Re: guys

ahh alrighty, good to know.

I'm going to hate myself for stepping this.

projected amount of notes feels somewhere within the range of 55,000 notes but may go as high as 92,500 notes if I underrate its length.

Re: guys

it's not the worst song but R-Kelly is kind of the worst cause he's a sex offender

jk he was acquitted because famous people are not allowed to go to prison

Re: guys

If for FFR, thats awesome... If not, then thats just insane.

And also, you should think about stepping Trapped in the Drive-Thru

gold stinger 01-27-2015 11:45 PM

Re: guys

I'm pretty sure FFR would shit itself if a file that big was ever incorporated into FFR.

considering most files have an mp3 size of 2-5mb and the mp3 for this is 228mb.
