Out of curiosity, what is the long term plan for this?
Are we just going to be collecting cards forever?

I'm sure another contest involving use of these cards are coming soon. This TCG thing is great. Makes me wanna do more with FFR so that I don't get bored with it. I'm doing this to rack up as many more credits as possible. :D

You make it sound like that's a bad thing...

Long Term, I would like to see cards implemented as a Site Feature linked with Sitewide events and and a page for each player's collection and a global leaderboard.

While all that would be awesome, for now I'm just doing my thing :)

Re: FFR Trading Card Game (C5)

I wouldn't mind seeing Cards as tournament rewards as well as different editions for cards based on when and where they were received (this allows further collection of cards past the point of where someone collected every single card in-game).

First Editions, Tournament Editions, Special Editions, Alpha Editions...

also an actual TCG to use them in would of course be nice to use them in too, but tbh would take a ton more time to make.

I also still like my idea of allowing people to sell/buy/trade cards at will (with credits), because it justifies the great point of a "trading" card game, and will prevent the process of it getting old.

You can expect to see TCG packs as rewards in most, if not all future official events.

If you crazies want to create graphics for the literally thousands of cards out there, be my guest.

Re: FFR Trading Card Game (C5)

There would somehow need to be a template that loaded the card data into the appropriate fields

Card name goes here, rarity here, etc, with a generic photo in the middle.

Of course that would require a database of card info and coding stuff which is above my abilities (I have no coding abilities)

Edit:// @Goldstinger
I am interested in allowing buy/selling of cards, but I'm a little afraid of how much time it would take me to update. Automation would be awesome, but would take a lot of time and effort from (keyword) volunteers that are already bogged down with many other projects and stuff.

Just so you guys know, the poll that was posted isn't an empty poll. If we get enough support, the TCG has a pretty good chance of being made into an official FFR feature.

Right. Currently I'm only working on a select few. I don't really see myself being able to create more than about 20-30 custom cards at the most right now. It's more of a super special-specialty kinda deal. Mostly because I'm unofficially making unofficial cards.

However... since I'm the only person who is working on physical cards for now (as far as I know. if anyone else is also working on physical cards PM me!) I'll probably let out an update if that number changes. I really do hope I'll be able to make some more than this though.

PM me if anyone has questions or you just want to remind me to finish the design!

well of course as soon as you allow people to swap credits for cards (maybe something in the way of sending credits to a certain account with the text on the credits being: "FFRTCG:PackNameGoesHere(x1or2orIDK)"), it's technically opening the flood gates and you're gonna get flooded with requests & credits.

Maybe instead of one week where you would post a challenge maybe allow people to buy/sell cards instead mm? Just to see how it goes/is handled ;) you could even put a limit on how many could be sold/bought.

Marcus, the achievement stated difficulty number, not tier (Rarity) number; therefore, the card's rarity must be tier 1; the number before the song must be either 7 or 8.

On a side note, if you wanna add TCG as an official feature I think if anyone actually gets vrofl it should unlock the vrofl token for them.
The chances of anyone getting it are astronomically low.

Re: FFR Trading Card Game (C5)

Especially since it will only be available in rare Token Packs

Token packs haven't even been released yet
