What are your top 5 rhythm gaming accomplishments in 2014?

You know the drill, post what you think are your best 5 scores from any rhythm game that you've attained in 2014 here.

No general order, but here are 5 of what I think are my best accomplishments this year:

Conspiracy of Silence AA
This is probably a bit of an off one, I had the capability of AAing this for years but I couldn't seem to do it for some reason. I was stuck at 92.9 from last year so it was pretty nice to get this out of the way.


Higan Retour AA
Surprise AA, wasn't expecting to AA this at all.


St. Scarhand (Icy) 1.5x AA
This was the score that made me realise that I was really really good at dense jumpstream, and it led me to try a lot of other files with ultra-fast dense jumpstreams. Essentially this score is the score that made me push harder.


Last Winged Unicorn 97% DP
This was cute. Completely destroyed my old best and probably the only "unbeatable" score I have at the moment.


Aranjuez 1.2x AA
This has a lot of context behind it, but I'll just summarise it with .

All of my best scores are from FFR because all the SM files I play are just my own unreleased WIPs so nobody would know what they are rofl

Definitely the weakest score up here but I'm really happy I got teens on it


Never really felt my Shitsubou Choco AAA was that noteworthy lol
Only other scores I'd consider adding to these are 6-0-0-4 Hero Reconsidering and 10 clean Breakbeat Acid.
Had a lot of fun playing FFR this year.

1 - TGWNP Oni AAA
Not sure exactly how many people have AAA'd but less than 5 I think?


2 - Passage D AA
This was a milestone of mine for quite some time, PA and MA are absolutely garbage because of burst manipulation.


3 - Spica AA
Not much to say about this one, really awkward patterns that I'm somewhat decent at because of all the awkward patterns in solo.


Speaking of solo...
4 - Golden Cross Shuffle 1.2 AA
This was absolutely nuts.

5 - 3y3s AA
Really nothing to say.

background-story if anybody cares: when I was actively playing taiko 2 years ago, it was one of my highest priority goals to fc this on doubletime.. I played this quite a bit and then this run happened - only 2 years later

it was my first attempt to see how I'd do with my new kb which arrived during the time I started playing again for fun for like a week, I was shocked

2014 in Review


My goal for 2015 is to compete in D6 for the 11th Official Tournament.

1. Otaku Speedvibe [Oni] Unlock
All I wanted was an SDG on Defection, honest! I started 2013 with an Otaku Speedvibe [Heavy] unlock, and started 2014 with an Otaku Speedvibe [Oni] Unlock! I have come to accept that having one's dreams crushed in the last 100 notes is pretty much required before actually unlocking [Oni], and now I have earned it.

2. First FGO SDG
[8-0-0-1] on Magical Higan Tour 2009. This score is what inspired me to continue playing and kick ass in the 10th Official Tournament. I now have 5 FGO SDGs under my belt!

3. [11-3-9-5] on Xanthystrauma
If there was any doubt of the PA gods existence, I am now a believer. This was the moment where I first discovered that I could actually take difficulty 86+ songs seriously.

4. Skeletor Blackflag
I started with 11g clean, and grinded the absolute shit out of this file, one good at a time. The membbers of VancouFFR chat know my struggle too well. But I am not sad with my blackflag; After all, Skeletor bows to no one!

5. [3-0-1-0] on Reality
My first taste of Scarhand [Heavy]. This score is a huge motivation to keep training. I look forward to earning more low-SDG FGOs in the early new year!

1. Gate Openerz oni 1.1 AA (by far)
biggest fluke score ive ever gotten and i haven't had a half decent attempt at replicating this since (almost 4 months now since I got it)


2. Game Time SDP
my most played file ever, inching closer and closer to getting the elusive quad


3. Aranjuez AA
took a lot of grinding to get this. i blame fanta


4. Hyperioxx AAA with decent MA
clutch as hell considering the run right before this was ~60p 3g


5. Future Dominators AA
got this immediately after the gate openerz 1.1 fluke, still haven't re-AA'd

1. The A La Menthe (TALM) - AAA. First person to AAA. This score made me motivated me to keep striving for improvement. The amount of positive feedback I got from this score alone made me realize the potential I had.



2. Laser Canon Deth Sentence - 30's.. MA feat for me. Dunked eze LOL

3. The Battle of Lil' Slugger AAA - Second*** person to AAA and tbh .. I really surprised myself when I realized I could do streams that fast (even though they're easy to hit)



4. Dark Matter - Showing that the AAA is definitely possible :3



5. Gate Openerz - 16p, the first marathon dense HS file score that I felt like I'd never beat again. I hope this sets a decent bar for current and future SM players (even though people like Dinmo and Etienne can easily beat this by now)



I can't play Stepmania normally anymore (after updating my computer version). The newest version requires me to hit abnormally early, so my MA is .. not so awesome. It's about time I kind of retired from the game anyways; 4 years getting good at a game is a bit depressing lmao. Goodluck to current and upcoming players~

1. [Index] Testament of Will AAA. My first and only 17 AAA.
2. [Spread] Casino fire Kotomi-chan AAA. Bmah chaaaaaannng.
3. [Index] Stay In Your Room With K. 75-2-0-0-5. My Over the Fullereneshift (Oh Henry version) 51-1-1-2-1 is arguably better, but I prefer the former because it was a bit of a milestone for me. It was also a huge improvement over the 334-43-9-4-30 that I posted in last year's thread.
4. [Spread] FREEDOM DiVE 4-0-0-1. Dropped 2 goods in the middle, but still kinda solid.
5. [Spread] Quadraphinix near-AAA. Messed up the last jumptrill lmao. MA could have been better.

#5: IKill 5g FC

I really didn't expect to FC this, especially with ridiculous PA like that.



#4 One More Lovely After Hours 1.5

The fact that I can 95 this but can't even break 90 on the original's kind of funny. Definitely up there for one of my best scores.



#3 Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu -Gekijouban- AAA

This beauty right here won me the tourney for the 10th official and I'll never forget it. The amount of nerves that were going through me was unfathomable and I don't think I've ever been so happy about a score in my life when I AAA'd it.




#2 Disregard 23p - Index

Dropping my perfect count by 40 completely threw me off after I was done with this run. I thought Vertex's run was untouchable but I seemed to prove myself wrong. The fact that all of the CB's were essentially in one spot is kind of funny to look back on.



#1 Disregard 1.1 - Index

A long-time goal of mine that I've wanted for a while. And I did it relatively comfortably oddly enough. I couldn't really think what to put at for number one but I feel like this will do. An A on this is certainly possible.

#5 - 17 minutes of "I hope I don't get a random good."

#4 - St.Scarhand[Heavy] unlock, automatically qualify because slow speedmod and I thought I would never get it.

#3 - Yes, I'm Sorie. No, I'm not sorry. High speedmod alt account, got stats wiped because I felt bad to monopolize the avrank leaderboard. Recycled to 3.0x+ speedmod account. Will play it more later.

#2 - First 86 SDG, but now stats wiped lol rip 2014.

#1 - This could have been first 87 SDG, that sucks, but I can't really ignore it.


*Husigi Milk Tei, Grist and grind2 are the only other files close to sdg in 87-99 range.

I feel like I've gotten some noteworthy scores in atleast 3 games so I'll shamelessly do 3 on the other 2 games i play per game

Phrase was kinda a joke, the phrase "blue planet sdcb" but I made it real with a really good play, definitely my most impressive SM score of 2014

Normally wristjacking isn't my strong side, yet I pulled off a score that beats the previous WR by far and getting AA with 94.9 % as first AA
