North Korea ends 1953 armistice
http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...ting-armistice
Welp. A 60-year-old agreement has been cancelled by North Korea in response to the more restrictive sanctions imposed on it (which came about because of North Korea's nuclear test last month). Not to mention that North Korea has also threatened to nuke the United States recently. What are you guys's thoughts on what will happen? Will the Korean War restart (as North Korea is threatening)? |
Re: North Korea ends 1953 armistice
North Korea is dumb as fuck.
It's like that little kid going up to a high schooler threatening to kick his ass every single day but never actually does anything. and if that kid does do something, the high schooler will knock some sense into him. Mercilessly. |
Re: North Korea ends 1953 armistice
There's absolutely no way NK can pull anything off. Not only would they fail, but they'd get universally shitcanned. Everyone pretty much knows this.

NK is like the 12-year-old 70-pound kid who thinks he's so tough over the internet.
If they actually try anything serious, the US will shit fury and NK will drown in it. I think they're perfectly aware of that, and most of this is just for attention and to see how dangerous they can look. |
Re: North Korea ends 1953 armistice
Nobody gives a damn about North Korea's threats - they are the boy who cried wolf, and they've threatened warfare and outright "annihilation" more times than anybody cares to remember. Not only that, but they don't even have the capabilities to launch a nuclear missile more than a few miles beyond their borders. Remember their failed satellite launch last year? That even the North Korean media had to admit? Their technology is severely outdated and poorly maintained, even technology from the 1970s looks cutting-edge next to what they have. If they weren't bloviating and foaming at the mouth every time somebody even so much looks at North Korea the wrong way, how would they maintain any kind of relevance on the international playing field?
Oh, and about that 1953 armistice? Yeah...North Korea already nullified that a few years ago. |

Guest15937, a topic discussing the news doesn't constitute as a Critical Thinking thread. I moved this to Chit Chat.

Isn't Communism all about looking out for your fellow citizens? The leaders of NK sure wouldn't be doing a good job of that if they try to launch a nuke at the USA.
If they do, we're gonna liberate the shit out of their people. [insert 'best korea' jokes here] |
Re: North Korea ends 1953 armistice
whats going on in the DPRK right now is intense because they took another step by cutting all means of direct comm with SK, but theyre just blaming it on more scheduled US/SK military exercises it seems. i dont think its as interesting as what's going on between china and japan right now. things are escalating with the chinese encroaching on remote japanese islands and i wouldnt be surprised if there was a naval skirmish soon
