James May's Wheel of Arrowsmashing II

Welcome to the second installment of My Wheel of Arrowsmashing Tournament!

Hello people, James May here to give you guys two months worth of arrowsmashing goodness. Unlike the first one though, there will be no anti-skill rounds. But, it is still non-elimination raw scoring tourney. Rounds will run for a week each, starting Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00 P.M. EST (that means 6:00 Server Time). There is an upside to it all, if you play it throughout the entire tournament, you still earn credits regardless of position \o/.

But enough of that, time to go to the basic rules of this tournament:
1) PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T CHEAT, it would just make you feel like an idiot
2) If you are unsure about placements, PM me, don't whine/bitch/moan about it here
3) In addition to rule 2, don't cause drama about petty things.

But what about the engines James?
That is simple, we are only using the regular FFR engine.

How many files will we have to play per round? And how many rounds?
Three files per round. Each being more difficult than the other on the same round (ie: 46 -> 49 -> 52 in round x). But don't worry, I'm not going to make you guys play Red Wing Over Baron or World Tour 2004 in one round hehehe. Also, the tournament will consist of 8 rounds

Will there be teams?
Yes there will be. The teams will be randomized by the randomizer to avoid any bias from me so no "I wanna be on a team with ___________ & ________!" And yes, it will be a 3-man team per division. I plan on making 4 3-man teams per division. But be warned, your team will suffer a 10 pt. penalty per day if you or your teammates submit late. But, I'll be glad to give extensions if the reason is valid (such as sick/no internet/keyboard died/college/etc.)

HALP! I don't know how to take a screenshot :<
Don't worry. It's simple in reality. If you are using a windows computer, simply press the Prt Scr button, then go onto MSPaint, paste it (crtl+v), crop it, open a new window (ctrl+n) save it (ctrl+s), and upload it to either here in your photo gallery or any image-sharing websites. For Mac users, press command+shift+3, that will save the picture, double-click on it, crop it, cut it (command+x), and follow suit to the instructions for windows but instead use the command button instead of the control button.

The teams are going to be per division so you're never going to face a team from d6 or a team from d1

I just like the divisions to have balanced teams just to make it fair. Maybe if I do another tournament like this I would probably follow a similar format to rebirth's speed tourney that is currently going on. If anything, I'll have the divisions up after the weekend.

I'll join. The structure seems sketchy since I don't think you'll get enough people for what you are planning in terms of 6 divisions with 4 3-man teams. I'll stick around to see how it turns out though.

Yeah. If anything, I might put it two division, but I am hoping that it would go as planned. D1 being the D1 - D3 players and D2 being D4 - D6 but I really am against that sort of disbalance unless each team members are from that respective division (one from D1, 2, 3 and so forth. But let's hope for the best haha.

Re: James May's Wheel of Arrowsmashing II

ductape is either high D3 or low D4, so where ever you want to put him. I mean, I would stay with D3, because who won't be able to keep up towards the end in D4. This is assuming from scores he's been posting lately.

Bobogoobo's highest AAA is a 49, and no 50 SDG's. So that 49 might a been a lucky run. His next highest is a 41 and then a 35. Other scores in those ranges are somewhat clean for most of them, but all high teens/low twenty's. I don't know where the cut off is for D2 and D3, but I hope that helps.

lmfao.

Anyhow, my cut-off for D2/D3 are clean scores along the high 40s - mid 50s and AAAs along the mid - high 40s but since I don't have vet status (too lazy >_>...), I just have to rely on past tournaments, sigs for best AAAs, and team rosters (if said team has a roster w/ the division placements)

Kangolosker, the main reason why you're in D2 was that Larg score, holy **** lmao. You sir can jack. Just need better consistency and you can certainly get a lot better in this game :3

anyhow, finished with placements. Thank you so much for letting me see the levelranks greg you were a lifesaver xD.

@coolguy: your levelranks were inconsistent to say the least, your highest was a 63 (give or take 2) but yet barely any nonmashed FCs above that. Mind sending me a few scores in a PM? preferably 1 from each diff starting from VC and ending in guru? It's just to get a better placement for you because I am on the fence for D3/4 to place you in.

It wasn't a lucky run, I can AAA Yukitsuki pretty consistently, but I'm just really good with jumps. I play one-handed so everything else is either inconsistent or bad :P. I was dying at the end of the last tournament I was in D2 in, so I think I'm pretty solidly in D2, but I guess it depends on the competitors.

21992 has 2 clean on Frictional Nevada, that's pretty damn close to an FGO AAA. That's close enough to throw him in D6 I think to give Preggers some competition :P

Why am I not placed in a division yet?

Read my post from the previous page. I was unsure which division to place you in.

Just donated a few credits (9084), not many but enough to make the total an even number

Personally, I would place you in D1.

I actually helped James with placements, I agreed with the decision to put you in D2 once I saw that Largiloquent score, which is ridiculous. We felt like someone that could do that (which neither of us could do) does not belong in D1. While you need more consistency, you definitely have potential to rape once you get consistency. I would've initially placed you in D2 had I seen that Larg score, and regret opening my big mouth before James made the final decision lol

While I do agree that it would be close to put him in D6, he's at the same scenario as jprox (if he would have signed up) where certain scores would be a hairbreadth away from placing him into D6 but he's quite not there yet unless he doesn't mind at all.

Anyhow, updated to this post.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this isnt a team tourney anymore? Also rebirth mayyy be an outlier in D4. Dunno if he's quite D5 yet but he's certainly better than me.

It's still is. I'm just making D1 ranging from D1 - D3 and D2 from D4 - D6. But unfortunately I need more D6 players Dx

and yes, Rebirth is the outlier for D4, the only WORRY score there is is that 6g on Pants but everything else is D4-material
