hahaha, I remember you playing Crashday during one of the Have At It tournaments and quad-holding the corners so that you didn't have to do any of the crossovers after the guitar solo.

that was absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, some people told me after that they thought I quit but then they realized I was just holding the four corners with my feet. It was at USPF last year in vegas (I ended up in 3rd >:O). Glad you enjoyed that. I like to move as little as possible.

holy shit no wonder I couldn't find the video. This whole time, I was thinking it was Have At It but it was USPF, haha. I remember you and WinDEU going at it during Have At It the 3rd; that was an intense match, haha.

what brings you to SM (and playing keyboard files) again? I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some players from AIJ coming over as spread players

I did pretty bad overall on the song but whatever. Good enough in the tournament.

Yeah that match was great.

My friend and I play once in a great while so we both started playing more again recently for no particular reason at all. I think most of the AIJ people play index? Jim (aoreo) kind of plays a hybrid. I don't pay much attention to that thread most of the time.

Jim started playing spread (again) recently. Yeah, I'd love to hang out with you guys and play some SMO but my computer plays SM like garbage for whatever reason (Ubuntu), yet it can play FFR/ThirdStyle in browser perfectly for some reason, which I would figure is a bit more memory-intensive.

*shrug*

lmao that's awesome. I'm pretty confused, why does that work exactly? do PIU holds not require you to tap at the start of each one?

crazy that you can just hop on over to spread and beast SMO against Laggy and others. definitely post some non-terrible scores sometime... or more Pump videos

Re: Look at all these noobs I used to beat a few years ago

In PIU, you'll often see two techniques of holds. If a hold has no steps before it, then you can put your foot down and not be forced to step on it with proper timing.

PIU alleviates this in some situations by having two very very close steps, one being a tap and THEN a hold IMMEDIATELY after it, which you don't have to step on a second time. The first tap forces timing, in essence. Combined with a lot of turns/crossovers, these are considerably more difficult.

In Sikraiken's case, Crashday's holds are just free holds with no taps on top of them, which is why he was able to just hold the four corners and not move.

gotcha, thanks for the explanation! seems a little goofy in the context of that notechart. I guess most players wouldn't think to hold all of the corners though. funny stuff.
