I FC'ed Witch Doctor a few days ago :3
I can also still fc So Deep

Tried out rhythm and police and tried to do the crossovers the way they're supposed to be done, was super exhausting xD

Passed a new 14...Hardest one to date in my opinion.

Heres a vid of the chart. Played by some random person cause there isnt a vid of anyone good playing it.

Some other score I like from today.

I know I am super late here (sorry I'm not on the computer as much as I'd like) but your actually very good if you've fc'd so deep, especially since I would assume your playing that on a bad pad (you can't play so deep unless your on a ddr extreme machine, so therefore bad pad). I know that it's really tempting to cheat the crossovers in songs like rhythm and police, but once you get them down they're actually less tiring then cheating, or at the very least more fun, you should keep practicing them :D.

Though I think some of the crossovers in that song don't actually work, or at least that's what I remember.

Anyways....

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I cannot believe I actually passed this, it was an itg goal for me but I didn't think I would ever hit it so soon. I am so ridiculously happy now you guys have no idea o.o.

Also one more score just because I took it today so why not

Wow this was way harder than I thought it was gonna be. I thought it would be a couple of long streams with mostly breaks, it turned out out to be a whole bunch of continuous hard streams and a couple of breaks, for like 6 minutes >.<

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

We have a local offsync upgrade cab to play atm (only public cab in the UK right now!) so at least I can start getting my stamina back. Pack distribution is shitty though. ITG Officials > Subluminal > SSSC2 > Dragonforce > Tachyon Delta. Some random other files, but lacking in the 12-14 area!

Denjin K Megamix - 92.26% is the only score I feel worth mentioning recently, and that's only because I still have the stamina to pass it!

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

Had another skillboost today, I installed the arcade mod for my cobalt flux and it really helped. I feel more comfortable playing now, but I have a stamina issue.

Stamina issue, first pass

First A, I rush the trills though. I have no trill control

First B. Improvement from my first pass, I definitely got a skillboost

Holy shit I FC'd the 8th streams going into the jumps at the end with some great rushing, this file is easier for me to score on than max 300 right now because I have a stamina issue. First A.

Now to the 11s (most of them are from Indeed Pad Pack):

Passed!

Thought I'd fail at the ending 24ths like I did last time, fortunately that didn't happen this run. This file is relentless.

YES passed the death run at the end

I consider this my best pass as of now next to thrash, the second half of this file is brutal. The 24th run took away half my lifebar and the crossover-heavy streams hit me hard

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

Can I ask why you play the DDR officials so much? The majority of konami's charts are just plain bad lol.

Only curious because you have access to hundreds of good charts made for ITG. Glad to see you're improving either way, Im waiting for you to vibrate full combo scythe of 13's 190bpm 24th trills

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

How can you do so well on maxx unlimited and have just A'd max 300? It's still a struggle to pass that file after A'ing max 300. Nice job btw. And I think the ending is 3/32nds even though it should be 12ths (lolkonami).

Fascination ~ELM~ is literately the biggest pos ever made ever so gj on passing it. Everything else is cool, esp. Thrash. Curious to see what you would get on some of the easier 10's like Bag, Sakura, and the Legend of Max since you're playing DDR songs.

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

They have a lot of turning and the patterns require a lot of movement so it's good for building up stamina. Same goes for files in indeed pad pack except the files don't have ambiguous double steps like DDR does

It's a stamina issue. In Maxx Unlimited you can go no-bar and chill at the freezes, but in Max 300 you've got the stop and that's it. So basically, Max 300 is more draining and I tend to rush the trills in it.

If you're trying to build stamina why not play the easy levels of the Pendulum pack :o or play some of the songs with slower 16th streams like Baby(130bpm streams in one of Mandodo's packs), Crazy Loop(133bpm) and Johanna(just like crazy loop)

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

I've noticed that I tend to build up stamina faster when I'm doing charts that require a lot of movement. e.g. Famicom Selecta, Paranoia Survivor Max Heavy, Thrash and Uptown Saturday Night had me breathing hard after the song ended, but I do feel increased stamina over time.

Edit: Fixed my post, it was displaying Max 300 instead of Famicom Selecta in the 11s section

I find maxx unlimited way more draining then max 300. Max 300 is a ton of trills and very easy patterns and I can kind of barely move my feet on them, whereas maxx unlimited I have to make a lot of sudden movements to hit certain patterns, and it just feels like a longer song (I think it is too, by like 15 seconds or something). You play a lot differently then I do I guess, I'm interested to see what you do good at when you get better later on. :D

As for the ddr issue, I agree that the way the charts are designed in ddr make them a good way to practice reading lots of different sorts of patterns, crossovers, and stamina, but it's always good to combine them with straight up stamina tests too, that's what I do. It looks like that's what your doing too by playing the ddr boss songs and then 11's, keep it up and your sure to overcome your stamina problem in no time.

Oh btw dossar do you have all the ddr songs? Cause if you do you should try possession expert. It's one of the best stamina testers on ddr I think (besides anti matter challenge and 888), and it's also one of the most fun songs on there, give it a shot sometime :D

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I think it's good that you're starting on the DDR songs Dossar. Although the quality of charts the community make are of a higher quality, the boss charts before SuperNOVA are all actually quite good. And there are plenty of regular charts that are so much fun to play! Can't Stop Falling In Love -Speedy Mix-, Rhythm and Police, No.13, Xepher, Paranoia Rebirth, Dead End, Afronova, Exotic Ethnic, V (Challenge Chart). They're just a few songs that are good for building specific skillsets whilst trying to get your accuracy down, and also damn fun to play. I recommend all of those if you have them Dossar :)

As for your problem with trills, almost every player I've ever chatted to seems to have that problem at one speed or another. Most of the tricks you probably use on FFR to keep timing you've probably realised you can use on feet, but before you can even do that you just need to keep playing more and more until your legs are able to handle the movements you want to do. When I have to do long or fast trills, I use the foot that started the trill to keep time, making sure that each second step I hit with that foot is in time to the music and adjusting my timing from there.

Although you're not going to be anywhere near passing it yet, play the 15 for DeltaMAX from Tachyon Alpha and you should be able to get some damn good practice, and work out at what speed you start to have trouble (since every 2nd note the BPM raises by 1).

As for stamina, just make sure you're always pushing yourself hard with each session. I agree with you that for now, playing songs with increased movement (fucktons of crossovers and candles) will be very beneficial until you're at the point where you can score well on the good DDR Boss songs (Max 300, The Legend of Max, Paranoia Survivor Max, etc. Not Eternal Love Mix!), then start moving onto trying to score on the things Dragon mentioned (Crazy Loop, I Can Walk on Water I Can Fly, Johanna (Shut Up), etc etc).

Oh, and during all of this don't forget to push your speed in sessions too. ITG officials are brilliant for this, and have fun charts. ITG Rebirth is included in this. Chromatic Blitz 11 = <3

Although this is pretty long, it basically boils down to 'Keep playing stuff you like and stuff that's challenging, making sure you push yourself, and you'll get better'. You know more than anybody about focussing on weaknesses and perfecting specific techniques, so you'll get those down in no time, but no matter what you do it will take time to build up the stamina to do the harder and faster stuff. Do you have any videos of you playing at all? I'd be interested to see how you play :)

I had a good session on our off-sync upgrade cab with missing brackets yesterday! (seriously, the up and right arrows are missing a bracket XD)

Since coming back to ITG I've been reading ~750bpm Hallway, but decided to push the limits today and play everything closer to 840bpm Hallway. Turns out it's what I needed to be able to get back to streaming fast stuff decently! Due to the pack limitations on this machine it was mostly stuff from the SSSC2 pack, and thus just about everything is a sightread. And my scores would probably better if almost the whole machine wasn't offsync.

Denjin K Megamix (14 - Random) - Another 93% pass. Was my first song, and being able to finish something over 20 minutes long with no warmup and lots of 190bpm stream is always a sign it's gonna be a good day...
Melon Lover (13 - SSSC2) - 95.20% (long 180bpm streams)
Strike of the Ninja (13 - Dragonforce) - Full Combo'd all of the 24th runs in it, which is a major improvement. Just a 94% or so though.
Destination Helios (14 - SSSC2) - 91.32% (200bpm streams woo)
Electric Butterfly (13 - SSSC2) - 97.xx%
What Will Come of Me (13 - SSSC2) - Score doesn't matter, ecstatic at the full combo!
Empire State Glory (13 - SSSC2) - 97.86% FC! (dem trills)
Jambi (13 - SSSC2) - 96.xx% (offsync makes this a bitch)
Asator (14 - SSSC2) - Played this twice. Pussied out in the 2nd run on the first try as my wrists were killing me. Played 2 songs nobar to make them okay, then got this (long 180bpm streams)

Gravity Blast (14 - Subluminal) - Didn't think it'd be much harder than the one from TLOES, turns out those runs are quite a bit longer!

Detonation (15 - SSSC2) - Love this song, love this chart, thought that since I was doing well at 210 I'd give it a go. Those runs were longer than I remembered, but for my first pass I'm not complaining! I think that's 6 15's now :D

Next time I go down I'm taking my video camera and will have a regular camera ready since we don't have a USB port in it...

Thanks Wildfire, and yeah I actually think I might go for 90. On that particular run I for some reason felt really confident on the run, and I know I could do better on it, with a little more stamina and a little more push 90 seems within my reach actually.

Haha thanks halogen, that means a lot coming from you. Though personally I don't think it's that impressive, plenty of the people who come to play at that arcade can beat that song, I still have a long ways to go before I can really say I have good PIU stamina (If I beat that gargoyle 23 I'll say I have it haha)

I can feel my stamina improving. Playing files with a lot of movement has been helping quite a bit.

Also, right now Marvelouses are arbitrary and I'm turning them off for pad play. I seem to perform better with Marvelouses off, it looks less messy when I'm not seeing a mix of marvelous/perfect since my current MA on pad is absolute garbage from how little control I have.

Edit: This crushes my first pass by a lot. Like I said, MA right now is arbitrary since I already know my accuracy sucks, I'm just trying to improve stamina and control right now.

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

I'm willing to bet that your scores are bad because of offset issues. I had the same issue for a while.

But, if you're into just playing on DDR-like timing, you should adjust your metrics again, as SM would be a bit looser than you want.

Also really nice job cutting down the CB's on paranoia survivor dossar, that song is really hard to keep your combo on, especially at the skill level your at. Give the challenge chart a try sometime, I'd like to see how you do.

Anyways a couple of scores here

Passed another 14, yay :D. Could of definetly done a lot better than this, but I had sorta pulled a muscle right before this run and it was at the end of a 4 hour ITG session so yeahhhh. I'll have to improve this someday

(also I'm on the right, not the left. I'm not that good >.<)

Proud of the CB's but the score is awful, I really gotta figure out how to get good accuracy on this song, it seemed like I dropped goods everywhere.

Also, to keep this post relevant

Went up for another session today, seems they've added a ton of packs to the machine in the last couple of days O_o Nothing too amazing, but ITG Rebirth is a nice one and there's a pack called 'My picks' which has some stuff in like Ub3r R4v3 and Infernoplex. It also has some crazy chart to Monotone that I've never seen before, which is a short intro, a run taking up half the song, then some triplets, and a run taking up the rest of the song. Was kinda fun. Does anybody recognise it from the banner?

Denjin K Megamix is back again. I'm improving my scores on it fast, but I'm certainly not improving my ability to be able to pick up my camera and take an unblurred screenshot before the results screen fades out...

Other than that, nothing special. Some decent double and tristars on ITG Rebirth files but I couldn't stream fast stuff as well today...

Nice to see some decent passes from new boy Linky! Who's Holy Macaroni chart is that btw? I don't recognise the banner...

Dragon - I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh whenever anybody fails so faaaar into a song! You'll have it soon, and keep up the good work! I don't know what simfiles you have, but get ahold of Denjin K Megamix and give that a go if you can. Also, can you make a video of you trying Deltamax 15 from Tachyon Alpha? :D

Frozen - Nice work on Helios! Never an easy pass, even when not injured XD I'm not familar with the other 2 but we have subluminal on our machine so I can try your second one. I'm always scared to pick songs from there randomly as although I can do footswitches, I don't like them XD

Best score on this yet. I can do a lot better though.

This is a really fun song. The broken streams a bit hard to read sometimes.

First pass on this song. I need to play it more, it's a great chart.

If you're looking to train your stamina, and you're around the level you and I are at, Denjin K Megamix is a beast of a file. 8500 notes in just over 20 minutes, it's all good up until 2/3 through when the difficulty hikes significantly. I play it every session and think it's wonderful for improving my stamina, plus the song is SICK.

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

I'm at the point where footspeed is a necessity because I'm getting crushed by decently fast songs. What are some good high 11s/low 12s that are around the 160-180 bpm area? (Reasonable stream length for 160-170 obviously because something like 20 seconds long is a bit unrealistic at my current level, 180 right now is way out of reach but it'll be considered later)

I played again today, it takes a while for me to get warmed up but I got these after 2 hours of playing. Just wondering, how long do you guys play for in your ITG sessions?

First FC

Dammit, good PA though

Same here, pretty decent PA

Bad trill control, this has a generous amount of candle steps

Slight improvement, kinda pissed I missed the SDCB by one

YES

I've noticed a slight increase in footspeed, but I'm still slow. But it was enough to rush this and pass.

Same here, I missdumped the ending

Indeed Pad Pack

First FC

Great song for stamina and crossover management. It's 125 bpm 16ths but is relentless. The ending still gets me because of my low footspeed.

Pretty messy but I was able to get through the short trillstream in the middle with around half a lifebar. First pass

lol messy as fuck, I'm so inconsistent on the fast trills. Low footspeed also doesn't help with transitioning between the 16th bursts

Nice improvements dosser :)

i usually play from a minimum to 3 hours to 4-5, depending on the situation. However, when i got back into ITG i could barely stand 30 minutes of nonstop playing, without even trying hard songs. Takes some time to build up stamina. Why do you play on DDR though? don't you have any itg cabinet nearby?

Dammit dossar that's some nice PA! A few suggestions that I can think of...

Energizer (10), Xuxa, Utopia, Infection, July (all from ITG1 or 2, 150-170bpm)
Cherry Blossom Whirlwind, Chromatic Blitz (11), Duality, Etude to a Dragon (all ITG Rebirth)
Maybe try Denjin K Megamix. I know I push it a lot, but just see how far you can get and push yourself to do some 170 bursts XD

(Reasonable stream length for 160-170 obviously because something like 20 seconds long is a bit unrealistic at my current level, 180 right now is way out of reach but it'll be considered later)

PERFECT timing to move onto some of the hard/medium charts for Pendulum. The whole pack is 174 BPM (exception of few songs) and the difficulty varies a lot so it's a perfect pack for you. Songs also vary in lengths too from ~2 minutes to ~7 minutes which is even better.

OpenITG forces fantastic timing which I'm not concerned about right now (and its scoring is heavily based on it). I need to build up my physical skill first to lower CBs, then I can be concerned about that type of accuracy.

Edit: Also for some reason I find this kind of amusing

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

ITG is better in many regards, i think you'd better be starting from that or you might feel uncomfortable later. Fantastic timing and stamina buildup are in no way connected imo.

YESSS. They are finally reopening the Legoland on March 1st which used to be my ITG place for a couple of months. If they let me, I'm going to foam-mod the pads, switch the theme, put some songs in, and beast the fuck out of all the 17s I've always wanted to play.

Too bad there are going to be full of dumb kids who are gonna annoy me like every time I play.

Putting foam underneath the panels so they are more raised. It's common nowadays because it takes less effort to register the steps. It's not a difficult job but Newmarket won't let me do it because they're afraid I might get electrocuted or something even though this process won't involve any electrical currents lol.

Mollocephalus 02-23-2013 08:07 PM

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

I just did it at the arcade i usually play. In most situations arcade owners don't want cabinets to be touched because they don't believe you are competent enough, or you could ruin something. They couldn't care less if you got electrocuted (lmfao how can they believe high voltage cables could go inside a pad where people sweat on).

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

New 12 passed. I think it's my best one so far. It required more stamina than footspeed. As you can see, my accuracy got destroyed as I got tired near the middle; I'm not so happy with the MA, but I'm liking my PA on it. I could probably 90% this if I don't play it near the end of my runs like I did today.

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

@Dossar, you realize ITG's Fantastic window is just barely smaller than DDR's perfects. Marevellous's in DDR are way stricter.

Anyways, for your question, my ideal session, if I have no interruptions or anything, is generally 3 hours or so. During that time I generally warm up with easy stuff, then from there it's like a roller coaster. Hard shit, cool down, more hard shit, cool down some more. Etc.

Also @Wildfire: I played Deltamax and failed with 61%. Kept trying to upload a vid but it wouldnt work lol. I actually had the FEC until like 35-40%.

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

Wow this board is really getting active lately, makes me really happy to see :D

Anyways

@Dossar Excellent job passing Paranoia survivor challenge! I knew you could.

And I know you probably feel like you mashed fascination maxx but back in the day that's all I could do too, but once the pass was possible and I started playing it a bunch it helped my stamina immensly and I got better at it very quickly, keep working on it.

Oh also as for how much I play, I used to play for maybe 1 to 1 and a half hours at most, and I would usually give myself about 2 rounds of warmup songs and then jump in, with my 4th round usually being the one I would try the hardest stuff on.

Now though I typically play with a lot of people, and because the machine I play on is joint premium (1 credit for two people) I'm usually playing with people, which is by far the best way to play the game. It makes you keep going when you wouldn't normally, try songs you never would yourself and consequently work on things you don't normally work on, and just in general push your hardest. I know playing with a friend is what's gotten me passes on things that I never thought I could pass (super lovely for example) Uh but to answer the question if I'm playing with people I play as long as they play, which has been like 3 hours normally and has been up to around 8 or 9 hours before.

@Kibblre: I don't know that chart, but with the number of arrows I imagine it was just steady streams for the whole thing, so nice job! If you can give empty of the sky or God knows.... a try, I'd like to see how you do.

@Dragon: Becoming insane was really impressive, that looked really technical and really draining, great job keeping up with it. I ought to try that chart sometime, I've never even seen it before.

Anyways after all that, here's some scores!

Wow this was tiring, honestly really proud I got such a good score, thought I would eventually drop the ball to be honest. This is a brand new happy feet chart so if you don't know the chart here it is.

Hah! Your turn dragon! :P

I also got 84% or so on Tanglang, but I don't have a picture because I kinda failed it on the last like 12 arrows, still though it was really close. I might have a video of it coming soon cause Seth (happy feet) was playing with me and recording, so if I see that on youtube I'll post it here

I was wondering if you'd get past that point, as everyone I've watched play over this side of the pond dies at the 70% part (2 examples below!). It's like that's the point where there's some intense difficulty spike and it suddenly gets unmanagable XD Still, it's worth playing once in a while as it helps with drill training! And getting a pass on it is niiiiiiice.

- Example

- Example (player 1)

There's a 3rd video of someone else here having the same thing too but I can't find it atm XD

When it comes to my play sessions, I always used to spend between 5-8 hours down the arcade back when I was playing more. I'd hit my stride a couple of hours in, and for the last couple of hours I'd either just got for new passes or try and score on 10s and below. At the moment I'm spending 3-5 hours per session until we get a better machine :)

Anyways, off for a sesh now!

Way off was pad for sure. Too bad it's still not a 99 after recalc

These scores were from long ago but they were laying around in my computer for a while so I figured I should put them up.

This. How do people actually play 3-5 hours? My day never exceeds 2.5 hours because at that point, I'm really sweaty and feel like my legs are going to fall apart lol.

It was ~140 bpm streams nearly the whole time. There was a break of triplet-type action near the middle where I started losing all my accuracy.

Those two files you said don't seem familiar; I don't think they're on my machine. I found God Knows on Mootz Mix 4 just now, any idea where I can get the other one?

Back in the day where my mom dropped me off at an out of town arcade, I would play on and off for like 9 hours lol. Just drink lots of water and stretch every couple sets/breathe for a minute and you're good to go

Holy crap. Is that approximately 30~ sets? Most I've done in a day is about 6 lol.

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

I dunno exactly. I was working at an arcade where I had unlimited free games, so being at a different arcade, I had no interest in spending money on anything except ITG. So since I was stuck there for 7-10 hours until my mom would drive to come pick me up, my only option was to play, play, eat, and play more. I had a day where I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the place.

Sorry to get back to you on this so late, I kinda was out all yesterday and then it took me a while to find the right pack. Anyways that's not quite the right god knows, the one I'm talking about is in prelude + requiem, along with empty of the sky. They're both very long 12's, but other than that I think they're completely do able for you, so I'd like to see how you do.

you can go here to get prelude+requiem btw, it's a fantastic pack I think so you might want to get the whole thing

Random question, does the song have any swear words in it? The arcade I play at is pretty family friendly and the arcade owner doesn't allow "bad" songs.

Just looked through it on my stepmania, you're totally fine. It's mostly other languages and the only ones that are in english are paramore, lady gaga, and a couple other popular pop bands. I don't think you'll be running into swear words anytime soon.

Oh btw I forgot in the dark was in that pack too, give that a try as well :D

This is probably one of my favorite 13's. Almost entirely 137 stream with a bunch of measure long 24th streams thrown in.

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

I just kinda stopped playing for a year, but I went to the arcade for the first time in a while and got both of these (on vid):

Blows any other score I got on this out of the water.

Personal best but I really could be getting teens if I focused harder.

Also got 3cb on max300.

I really do want to get better at this game, but I have to go to an arcade that's really far away just to play.
I'm surprised how good everyone else is at PAing since it seems I can't even hit single notes as perfect consistently.
I don't recognize any of the ITG scores posted, but the vids looks nice. Makes me wish I had access to play some decent stream files since the fastest ones on all the machines I've played are 100 bpm Konami files that tend to have annoying crossovers.

dragonmegaXX 02-28-2013 01:14 AM

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

New speed 14. Starwolf. Lots of measure long 170bpm 24th runs.

Also a really good score from today.

Also got a decent score on this. Botched it pretty bad in the end of the run though. I had like a solid mid 90's run going until I great rushed the last 4th of the stream.

^ Whoops actually the wrong pic lol. Oh well the score I got today was actually lower anyways.

FrozenAngel91 02-28-2013 04:33 AM

Re: ITG/DDR Scores

@Ilikexd those scores are actually much better than you might think, honestly I have trouble AAing both of those songs on ddr, they have patterns that just make them very hard to stay consistent on. I always did dread them coming up on random if I was trying to get the extra stage, especially era.

That's DDR Extreme right? If you're looking for a way to practice your streaming skill and your stamina like you would with ITG charts, there's a challenge mode marathon with max 300, maxx unlimited, paranoia survivor heavy, and something else I forgot. I still haven't passed it myself but just doing it is a great way to work on your stamina, give it a shot sometime.

@Dragon

That the island score kind of blows my mind, how in the world did you come out of the 24th burst with just one great, and then on top of that have enough stamina to get through the rest with extremely good FA, that's just ridiculous.

I think you can do better on Starwolf though, I know your footspeed is faster from those footspeed 14's you passed a while back.

Anyways just one score from me

Whooo I passed it, always did love this song and chart :D. Not a bad score
either.
I guess I'll try the subluminal one some other time

dragonmegaXX 02-28-2013 07:27 AM

The great was at the very end of the song, the 24ths are only like 190bpm or something.
