and Mythix....get off Darkshark's balls |
Re: To my graffiti post.
While I agree a lot of graffiti is cool to look at and takes a particular skill, I have to side with darkshark and Mythix that other people's property is really not the place to display it.

If I built my blank wall, I expect people to respect it! If I were to find some kid graffiti it, I assure you, I wouldn't think a mere second about if what he did was art or not! :-P |
Re: To my graffiti post.
Graffiti is art, I'm not questioning that at all. If you're going to go and do some sort of large scale shit on a wall, go get permission from the owner. Or here's an idea, cover the damn wall with paper so you don't ****ing deface someone else's property with paint. Then you can both respect other people's hard work that went into building the structure, and everyone else can respect the hard work that went into creating your art.

Its more for the satisfaction. I've never spray painted before, so i'm not good at it. Meaning I'm not gonna go do an awful piece on the side of a bank or some shit. |

Re: To my graffiti post.
Build your own practice walls before going to hit up an actual one
|
Re: To my graffiti post.
The city will never give you permission to do graffiti. Ever.
Go buy some paper, practice at home. |

Re: To my graffiti post.
Yeah but did they do a professional graffiti mural or did they just tag their names?
If you can get legitimate permission, then good job sir I look forward to seeing pictures of this. If not, well, I'll lose some respect for you. |
Re: To my graffiti post.
Well, the one by 6 flags is pro, and airbrushed. But The one on the light-rail is just normal tags with normal spray-paint, but the people who did it were very skilled. The difference is my wall isn't viewed daily by commuters, so getting permission, shouldn't be very hard. Also I'm taking this seriously I'm not just gonna show up and do some random tags and peace out.

Re: To my graffiti post.
I've been sketching graffiti on paper for a really long time and have gotten really good at it, but I'm in the same sort of predicament where I want to use spray paint and do a real piece but I'm not going to break the law to do it. I would have practice with spray paint, but I'm 17 and my parents have never really supported my love for graffiti-style art, so therefore I haven't been able to practice on my wall or anything like that.
I did look at the sketch and I can say it's alright, I noticed your lines are a little rough/wobbly in some spots. The letter shapes are pretty good, but I would say if you're going to paint a wall, you might as well make a really good sketch and try some different color schemes on it. If you're going to paint a wall, you might as well make it look as decent as possible. |
Re: To my graffiti post.
Thaaaats the plan. I'm going to start of with something super simple, not something like what I posted.
Post some of your sketches! |
