Re: Show your sketching!

I like the concept of the first one, it looks like a ship approaching a big future-type city or something, however it's very busy. I wish there was something to create a bit more heirarchy in the image. It's kind of all dense with dark lines over where the ship is located.

The second one is cool, i like the little shapes above the head, but i wish there was more attention drawn to that. If the person only had the bottom half of their head (for example) it would be easier to let my eyes follow those weird shapes, instead of being pulled to the dense patch of abnormal hair.

Coolstuff though.

Those landscape concepts are simply amazing. If they were number from left to right, top to bottom, my favorites are 1, 5, 9, 10, 11, and the last two.
Amazing work.

*EDIT/ADDING*

Here are a few that I've just scanned in. They were all, for the most part, drawn while riding on the metro bus. This is the most recent. Teresa is my favorite female anime character so far.

These next two, I've done some time ago but never got around to scanning them.

what kind of paper is that, the texture seem very pleasant to sketch on.

Very nice output Mahjix, I'd be interested to know what paper that's on aswell.

Renevatia: Really like the way you're defining forms with minimal strokes, as with most of your work. Are those done with any sort of reference or are they just building scenes you'd like to see?

The girl with the umbrella looks so stern O.o

And the succubus girl has almost manly facial features :D

P.S. only commenting on how the sketches look and not styles or techniques because I have zero knowledge of said topics, thus I'm not really in a position to say anything about that stuff. So insecure ahmg v.v

These are actually just drawn on regular sketchbook paper. I used a Non-Photo Blue pencil (Prismacolor) for the skeleton and layered the final sketch with a regular 0.7mm HB mechanical pencil. I also draw at a low angle, if that makes sense, to keep sharp lines; normally I use 0.5mm but my preference is 0.3mm. They're hard to come by, however and a bit costly (I lost mine -.- ).

Thanks! I am seriously considering changing the umbrella girl's face, LOL. Yeah, Morrigan came out with some 'strong' features. It's probably because I was so stuck on the athletic build displayed in the Darkstalkers movie. ^^;
