ITT: I post my weight.

Hello fellow FFR members. Happy March 1st, 2011. I am taking the initiative today to get back into shape.

Since I have graduated In December I have stopped going to the gym. I have been fairly active since I have adopted a dog and he likes to go running with me, but it has not been nearly as regimented or intense as my workouts before. I have stopped swimming, stopped cycling, and I have stopped weight training.

It is extremely hard for me to get below this particular weight, I literally have to exercise vigorously almost daily. Even then, when I do exercise, I put on muscle weight very quickly and the number on the scale often does not change. I am not doing any gimmick diets, or starving myself. It is merely putting myself on a simple cut calories and stay active plan.

If you wish, you can jump on the bandwagon and join the weight loss effort with me, whether you want to lose 5 pounds. 15 pounds, or 50 pounds. It's completely up to you.

I am holding myself accountable and putting my weight on display as a motivator to lose the extra five to ten pounds that I can do without. Now, it's easy for people to sugar coat their weight by just typing in a number, but I will be posting a picture of my weight now and one week from today regardless if the number stays the same, goes up, or goes down. You can either encourage me, insult me, or completely ignore this thread.

At 136lbs I am at a BMI of 23.3. While at a healthy range, I am somewhat close to borderline overweight. I would much prefer to have a BMI in the 22 range which would put me at a weight of about 128lbs. Keep in mind that I am female.

TLDR: Rubin0 would like to lose weight. Wish me luck.

Week 1:

Week 2: 1.6lb weight loss

Good luck! :)

ok, it took me a second to figure out that you were a girl. I find a good healthy way to loose weight is to drink alkaline water that has extra oxygen in it. I have no idea exactly where you could get it unless you ordered a machine off line;but i am sure you can find a place that sells it for a decent amount.

I meant to say on line sorry.

Never heard of Alkaline water, but I would imagine it would taste horrible. :P Sacrifices, sacrifices.

I'll join you.

I'm 6'2 and have been weighing from 185-190lbs for the past year. My ideal weight is 174, healthy weight between 155-194.

My beer belly is what's keeping that weight on. Exercise hasn't been too much of an issue, but my eating habits have. I'd like to lose 10 lbs and join the bandwagon.

good luck

I've gotta lose some weight myself... I'm like 220, 6'2.5", ideal weight 180-200 or so

How tall are you rubin?

Also I am around 125-130 pounds and 5'6". It should probably be around 135-140. Nothing I can really do about it though. I'm sure my metabolism will start to crap out on me in a decade or so.

Re: ITT: I post my weight.

I'm 6'0.5", 175 ish. That puts me at a 23.4 BMI. whee

My excuse is that it's too cold to go run outside very often, and I hate using treadmills. I think ideally I'd like to get back to around 160 like I was in high school. +1 Bandwagon I guess.

Good luck to you. Everybody wants to get in shape but few actually follow through.

I still need to get in shape though. My cardiovascular fitness is garbage. I use to pay ITG all the time so it was relatively good, but now heart works way to hard.

I'll be on the bandwagon as soon as the baby comes out lol. I'm due on thursday but who knows if she'll actually come on time. But now with the pregnancy I'm up to 197lbs I know some of that will come off when she comes out but I'll have a ways to go to get back to pre pregnancy weight.

Hop on an exercise bike before you decide to go out running.

I am a little over 5'4. A 5-10 pound weight loss might seem simple for most people but this could literally take me months. It's those stubborn vanity pounds that are the hardest for me and I lose it really slowly unless I starve myself which I wont' do.

Edit: psychoangel. I can't believe the day has almost arrived. Congratulations and best of luck. From what I've read, breast feeding burns a lot a lot a lot of calories if you were planning on going that route. :)

I can't believe it either it went so fast lol. Thank you much and I do plan on breast feeding as long as I am able to. But I def gained more weight than I should have with the pregnancy but that seems to happen to a lot of people in their 1st pregnancies. My mom had gained 70lbs with me and a friend of mine recently had a baby as well and she was another that gained 70. So I guess I can't feel too bad but I'm not looking forward to getting it all off again lol.

6'5 270

I gained 15 pounds since I started working graveyard/broke up with my ex. Id join the bandwagon but I know I won't follow through with this schedule unless I have someone constantly on my ass about it

It's not impossible, just have someone you know really well and will care enough to make sure you don't stray away from your goal. A close friend could do you well as long as you can keep in contact with them.

Re: ITT: I post my weight.

I find other people try to sabotage diets constantly.

"Oh you look great let's get cheesecake"

"You deserve a treat I brought you taco bell"

"What does that mean we can't go out anymore?"

"Oh I bought an entire cake, but that doesn't mean you have to eat it"

Re: ITT: I post my weight.

I wish I could join the bandwagon too. Being pregnant too means I need to gain weight, although that seems to be difficult for me since I have a fast metabolism. All throughout high school I barely wavered from being 110-120 lbs [5' 7" almost]. Always in the hundred teens range. For my height I'm underweight but I'm EXTREMELY unhealthy. I have always struggled to walk up steps because it winds me. Gym class was a nightmare because I have no energy, endurance, or well lung capacity. If people have tips for that [other than the obvious work on your cardio] I'd love to hear it. I mainly need tips on keeping my endurance up.

Re: ITT: I post my weight.

I don't think I've ever had anyone give me any of those lines lol

Also ideal weight for me would be 220
