Girls

Ok heres a question for all you thinkers out there. Ive been talking to this girl for a while and i cant get her to laugh like really laugh..she chuckles every once in a while. So My Question Is: How can you a girl laugh her butt off? I know this is lame but lets see how funny some of you are..

IronMonk 06-7-2004 05:39 PM

how to make a girl laugh... you have a possibility of two problems. each one effects the other.

a. you just arent funny.

b. she doesnt like you.

if either is the case. you have a daunting task indeed. i refer to the first as logansons disorder. i have a friend and for the life of him; he cant be funny, and he tries so hard. i hope that isnt your case.

but i think that as long as you find what it is that she find funny. or say build up your jokes then there isnt a single person out there that will fail to laugh their butt off.

Most girls are rather easy to make laugh. I'm a cartoon stripper, I should know. Just make jokes out of regular conversation between you two. That always makes people crack up. You could also act like a moron. You might not even need to fake it, assuming you think you're funny as is. Most likely it is the aforementioned "Loganson's disorder". Sorry.

Dont try to make a girl laugh...or make anyone laugh for that matter. Telling jokes, funny stores, etc, are really...not that funny. You need to be witty. You need to come up with funny things when the moment is right, and nothing is never as funny as the first time. Dont force it.

I am a fairly funny guy (or so I have been told, though I have also been told that I am warped), but I couldnt tell a joke if my life depended on it (then again, if my life depended on it, I bet I could think of something. But then again, I dont work well when I am under pressure).

Having a warped sense of humor is good sometimes. But not to warped to the point where a) no one gets it, or b) you offend someone.

Or you could tickle her, but then you might get slapped or something of the sort.

Here's the perfect joke. When timed correctly, you can send people in tears with this one.

"What's the difference between Neil Armstrong and Michael Jackson?
Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, and Michael Jackson f***ed kids!"

You gotta deliver it right, too. But man, is it funny when done right.

(I hereby declare this the best usage of a 999th post)

Wit and sarcasm. They work the best.

You also have to realize some people do not laugh, even at things they find funny.

I knew a girl that thought Bruce Almighty was an extremely funny film. I watched it with her. She didn't laugh, although she said "That's funny!" a few times.

Rare case, but... I dunno. Maybe it applies here?

Some people just chuckle at amusing things. When I watch a show that I consider funny (ie: That 70's show) I will chuckle at things I find really amusing. It takes a damn good joke to actually make me laugh.

Try situational comedy - when something happens, make a joke of it. I joke about my own fiobles all the time, it seems to work.

Take Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiam, and Arrested Development for example: They dont make people totally crack up, but to many they are the funniest shows on television.

Pooping_Panda 06-8-2004 12:57 PM

come up with stuff on the spot...but dont be stupid

IronMonk 06-8-2004 04:51 PM

Pooping_Panda, kudos on your sig, that thing is awsome. another note i should add on humor. some people just really like bad jokes.

here is a perfect example of a bad joke.

Q) what do you call a sad dog who likes cantilope?

A) MellonCollie.

Tell pick-up lines. They're always good.

Listen, you can't try to be funny. If you do, I guarentee nobody will laugh at you.

Seinfeld makes me crack up. What an incredible show. It's SO well written and acted. How the hell did they cast such a perfect group?

Everyone has a different sense of humor.

Coming from a girl, here's a list of things (that I've encountered) that men do wrong when trying to be 'funny'.

a. they get overly perverted.
b. they offend someone
c. they use 'over-used' jokes
d. they're trying WAY too hard.

sl1pknot 06-8-2004 06:02 PM

well im not very good at identifing it.

IronMonk 06-9-2004 05:24 PM

that is a sad thing to hear. as i have not seen many people accomplish the feat of learning the differance.
