Looking for Art for My Literary Magazine
Hey, everyone. My college's literary magazine, the Minetta Review, is looking for art/photography submissions for our next issue. Photoshop, sketches, photos, whatever. We'll consider pretty much anything as long as it doesn't have copyrighted images or random bits of text floating around (like your username or something).
Our cover is in color, but the inside pages are in black and white. We'll need really high-quality images, and our height to width ratio is 1.6:1, if anyone is interested. I guess you can upload your pics here, or send them over to my email - esupin@gmail.com - And if we take your stuff, we'll credit you in our issue! And I guess I can give some credits if we pick your submission for the cover as well. |
Re: Looking for Art for My Literary Magazine
It doesn't really go with the whole black/white thing, but it's definitely more editorial than what I usually do. High res too.

Very nice looking. The only think I dislike is the feathering at the top of the heart because the brushes can be seen through it, but very nice :)

Re: Looking for Art for My Literary Magazine
Yeah, I agree with uphoric... The diagonal lines are rather hard on the eyes... I like the theory and the design of the rest of it though... And I also agree with spenner that the feathering on the heart was probably unnecessary.

Fix'd the lines, I agree that the background's lines were too much for the eyes.
But I like how the heart is, I made some brushes that are used, and so I like how everything is arranged. |
Re: Looking for Art for My Literary Magazine
hey mak another great idea, that is if you want to put the extra effort in, try adding some extra detail to just to noise in the heart. I think that it would look really cool if it were orchestrated noise :P.
The lines are better, my eyes thank you. |
