Some japanese girls

tried new style AGAIN, but thankfully only took couple hrs to get somewhat familiar with since it's close to how trad. art is done.

crits/comments = thx

Ayumi Hamasaki (first attempt)

Aya Hirano (second attempt)

will try scenery soon, but they look epically time consuming

suggest me scenery pix here also, for me to draw

I am drawing directly from ref because I am not familiar with how things look in reality yet..so don't kill me on that part xD

image somewhat related

same style with scenery..really kills patience
need moar detail

btw this is a place called 九份 (jiou fen) in Taiwan, just in case if anyone is bored and wants some trivial info.

don't feel like making new thread so just gonna continue here

STYLE MERGES

here is kyoani style..well, basics without most of the fancy glares and light color gradient

k-on <3

Taking kyoani and merging with my original style

akiyama <3 rofl

Taking hybrid kyoani and merging with my wannabe realism with paint methods

miku is sad D:

next will be attempting to add korean char. art style (those fancy game art with epic muscle structures) on top of this..not sure if that works

they are very good.

Re: Some japanese girls

both are very realistic, the first one overrides the second though.

oh. by the way, which tools do you use for your works?

Re: Some japanese girls

brilliant as always.

The first one is the best, love the lighting

Re: Some japanese girls

Is it just me or do the lips seem weird in both (especially the top lip of the 2nd one). It's probably just the lighting or something.

The nostrils on the second also seem too dark.

Some of the brush strokes seem too... obvious. I don't know if you did this on purpose. If so then whatever, it's not super distracting or anything. If not then make them less obvious.

They look really good, though!

PS I'm by no means an authority on what looks good or what it should be, these are just opinions, disregard them as you will.

Awesome style, I want to see the landscapes though, 'cause I think they'll be a lot cooler so if you will ^^

Re: Some japanese girls

Very nice job. The only thing that's bugging me is that on the first picture there's a line to the left of the mouth that seems just so out of place. If it needs to be there, I'd make it less significant, because that's a turnoff for my eyes.

Other than that there's a few minor picky things such as dark spots or inconsistencies with strokes, but very nice work.

Re: Some japanese girls

Very nice!

Texture: 5/5

Detail: 4.9/5 (the lips do need some work)

Color: 5/5

Overall they are both outstanding portraits of the typical japanese girl. :D

layers, paintbrush, eraser burn tool and dodge tool(rarely dodge though)
these are on photoshop

i might try out painter again sometime in the near future

and ya, the first one was a really interesting picture for ref though, a very professionally taken photo (imo) , and the second one is just a random snap shot she took her self xD

Damn, your way of interconnecting and relating events and actions together is so deep. Props.
