I would suggest that an inability to defend the ideas that global warming doesn't exist or that the world is 6000 years old has nothing to do with failure to learn how to defend oneself logically, and instead has to do with the fact that those stances are incorrect.

Yeah, but you get my point, right? And if they were taught some of the opposing side, wouldn't they realize that some of the things that they are taught are wrong (or at least, possibly)?

I think that teachers should teach politics to students in lie their junior or senior year but they shouldn't teach religious things because there are students of many religions in schools so it wouldn't apply to some students and it may offend others due to controversies that some religions have had amongst each other in past religious battles.
