Self-Fufillment, and the eradication of it.

It seems the Critical thinking section has gone to shit again, so I'll add some more color.

To most, the will to power or empower comes from personal lust for more material possesions, and eventually such cravings eradicate self -fullfilment entirely, and leads to megolomania, which is an actual disease mentally. Think of Stalin, and the Medici of Italy (Reminding that this is not a historical battleground for the correction of factual information). Nietszche was one such that craved for the individual to become solitary and empower the lowly mobs, re-born as the new man.

I.E. Infants are powerless and totally dependent on others for their needs. When they gain some control of themselves, they go into their terrible twos. This is their first (after crying) attempt to apply these abilities to gain what they perceive as needs. It may be that the people you named never got past this stage.

Gradually, we learn that we gain more by sharing etc. Those who are unable to progress past their lust for material possesions have a very short view of the consequences of their actions. These consequences eventually catch up with them making them even more insecure and desperate for these possessions.

Any thoughts on free will and its application?

I point alot of this towards advertising media - trying to make you feel incomplete without a certain product (whatever it may be).

I think this self-fufillment will go full-circle. Never truly gone, but will just return to the point that we're happy with what we have, but will always yearn for a little more.

What stage we are currently at, I would speculate is around what we have we may be happy with briefly, but within a short period of time we'll want more or to replace what we have. The concept of heirlooms has nearly vanished in a world driven by corporations' attempts to make us feel empty.

Point noted.
