How's it going FFR?

Sup guys~

It's been waaay too long since I've been on here. But this is also the first time I've touched a PC in many, many months...

So I decided on this random night to pop in and update a few people on the latest happenings :)

-------------------

At the current moment, musical_vampire & I are playing host to here mum and sister who are visiting the land of Oz for the first time!! They are also visiting their grandchildren/neice&nephew for the first time. The whole experience has been fairly enjoyable and interesting as I've had "In-laws" for almost 3 years now, without ever having met them irl.

Our son Corey is now just passing the 18 month mark & is turning into quite the personable chap. Walking, talking, shitting his pants, etc. Marissa is now in grade 2 and is turning 8 this march!!?! I remember sitting in video chat as a single parent while little 2yo marissa would be running around with her toys in the background :')
We also got & then lost our pet rabbit 'Flop'

Right now, I'm suffering a broken 5th meta carpel. Thanks to a pair of meth-heads that decided attempting to mug a 6'6" Jae would be a grand idea. I broke my hand beating one of them half to death... (I wish I was making this up...)

My hand has been broken for 2 months now, and aside from interfering with my job in the Royal Australian Navy -- It has been a source of constant pain and impairment as I'm being jerked around by incompetent surgeons and playing the waiting game while I attempt to get corrective surgery in the form of bone grafts to enable me a functioning right hand for the rest of ever...

In happier news of the last half year or so, I 'finally'** cut my 2+ feet of hair off and have maintained a lesser length as per the requirements of my job in the defense forces. I also lost a bunch of weight in training for the Navy, then grew a beard on a whim & then shaved it off in quick successive installments!

For the matter of weight. I was sitting at around 127kg (280lb) and at my height of 6'6", this was unacceptable for the defense forces. In a brutal regiment of 400km+ cycling a week, plus diet and running, in approx. 3 months I managed to get down to under 107kg (234lb to be exact!!)

** according to my wife

---------------

And as for everything else... I could literally go on for hours about everything that has happened in the last year or so, but instead I've just brought you guys some highlights :p In addition to this, however, I must add that my poker game has been exceptional with increasingly regular wins and astonishing 95%+ final table averages. I'm hoping to bust into the pro circuit early next year, depending on how my hand surgery goes & in turn, my job in the Navy. Also, I've been building poker tables in my spare time for funsies and for profit!! Might even take this up as a buisiness venture if my hand injury stops my defense force career early...

-------------

I know this OP is a little scattered. And I'm not 100% sure anyone gives half a fuck about any of this. But if anyone wants to know anything else, just ask in this thread and I'll see that I get to responding in the next day or so!

Love you to bits FFR <3

stay sexy~

I missed you man. I feel all warm and fuzzy reading how you've been (except for the broken hand, of course. That's a shame).

Welcome back, I hope we'll get to see you around a bit more often this upcoming year :3

I've missed this site like crazy! We've got a solid PC-free house thing going (which has been fantastic, mind you). But I'm certain I could start popping in more often if my hand injury takes longer than a few months to heal.

On a side-note. How fucking adorable is Corey??? That little man has been the best part about being stuck at home with a useless limb :p

HAM

I browsed facebook for a while and noticed something different about you and thought "wait, Jae looks thinner and less hairy". Unfortunate about the hand injury but I'm glad that you and the family are doing okay. :)

Jae! Literally I asked a few people last night in prochat about what happened to you because I knew you had a lot going for you in the works of your life but I can't believe it!

Welcome back!

So glad to hear everything is going grand except the hand injury, but at least you have a good story as to why ;)

That little guy is so adorable, you're a really lucky man.

That's shitty about your hand though, hopefully it heals fully and you're able to do things normally soon. :)

Don't mind me, just a wondering nobody on this site.
Buuut, nice to meet you! You seem like an awesome dude, and all the pictures of the wife and kid (and you, of course) are adorable. My regards to the three of you. Hope your hand gets better, too.

Yeah, I'm hoping to have it sorted soon. Saw my specialist today & they're waiting until the 5th of November before deciding if they want to go ahead with surgery or not. (the general consensus is a definite yes. Considering that x-ray above is how it currently looks...)

Jaeee! Corey is adorable! I can actually remember when you only just had him.

Hope your hand heals up nicely! Good to see you back, even if it might just be temporary. :)

Long time no see stranger, nice to see you're doing well in life.

Thanks for popping by and letting us know what life has been going for you :)

How was Navy training other then the rigerous excercise and diet?

My cousin is in the military himself but I forget if he is Navy, Airforce etc.

P.S. I still want to visit Australia one day maybe even get a duel citizenship there, how are the spiders fairing?

Hey Jae ##

Glad to see you're doing well! Sucks about the hand but at least maybe a definitive date for a surgery is in sight soon? Making that poker table looks incredibly fun! Is it a difficult process?

if only i could find someone who would call down on a qj798 board with bottom pair i would be rich playing this game. where do you find these people? you're really big i am actually scared of you

Re: How's it going FFR?

@zap: he was down to less than 10bb, he tried to 3-bet shove me off a min raise ;)

Spiders are harmless, never had a problem so I guess as long as they aren't crawling under my giant shoes while I'm walkin, they should be doing fine!

Terry, the table is a lot of fun to build. Most difficult part is planning, wood selection, measuring the curves & making the cuts while retaining both pieces of wood (the playing surface & racetrack are both from the one piece and need to sit within each other perfectly.
I might put up my plans & step by step instructions once my hand recovers and I can draw, etc ;)
