FFR Guy History
It looks like FFR has been using the same little FFR Dude in a Hat logo since the dawn of time. Do we have any lore about this character?
Some Operation Ivy came across an auto playlist (some 311 radio on Spotify) and I thought the guy in the album art just looked real familiar. It sure looks to me like this dude skankin' in a hat is the genesis of FFR Guy. Always wondered what was up with his weird hand. I dug a little deeper and... here's The Guy but not as a silhouette! Goin' real hard. |
Re: FFR Guy History
Ha! I can see where you are coming from but there is absolutely no relation. The FFR Guy was simply born as more a "B-Boy" or breakdance style element. In my eyes, this represented a more interesting and stylized take on the generic DDR "person dancing". This was uncharacteristic of the genre at the time but I felt that it fit. If you look up b-boy stance and breakdancing, I am sure you could pull real-life photos of people that give off a similar vibe.

Straight from the moustachioed triangle's mouth! Thanks for breaking it down for me.
Searching it now, apparently "weird giant hand" is in fact pretty common to b-boy art. I dig it. Cool website btw. |
