The 2nd FFR Bracket Challenge?
I remember doing something like this last year, but it wasn't really that well-organized. Since the selection show is tonight, I figure that if this is gonna happen, we need to hit the ground running.
First, what scoring system do we want to use for brackets? 1 point per correct pick kinda snuffs out drama because it's hard to make a comeback. I also want to know if we want to do round-by-round picks. Second, do we want to use one of the numerous external bracket pool services available, like through CBS Sports or Yahoo? I know Megamon used Yahoo last year and he correctly picked Louisville to go all the way. EPIC UPDATE: Teams have been announced and Thursday is when the action starts! We're doing doubles and no round by round picks. That means you pick your bracket and it's fixed, but for each successive round, you get twice the points per correct pick from last. It's easy: http://y.ahoo.it/JSgtttsn sign up, then click and drag your picks. |
Re: The 2nd FFR Bracket Challenge?
The format is usually to double the points for a correct pick for each passing round. I'll probably hop in if we get some sort of contest going.

Re: The 2nd FFR Bracket Challenge?
I'd be down for this as well \m/ using a service on one of those sites seems way more convenient than managing it ourselves.

Re: The 2nd FFR Bracket Challenge?
Aight. I'll have to hop on Yahoo Sports and see if I can throw one together real quick.
Double points for each consecutive round sounds good, but are we doing round-by-round picks? Edit: Looking through the options for the Yahoo, and I didn't even know about some of these scoring options. Seed difference bonus? Upset bonus? Fibonacci scoring?! And I don't see anything about round-by-round picking on Yahoo, though I think CBS offers that. The only reason I'm going on Yahoo is because I know a couple of you are on there already, so if you could walk me through it or set one up, that'd be great. X3 Edit2: Selection show live now! Florida is overall #1. Edit 3: Michigan gets a 2, Mich St gets a 4. What the fuck. Anyway, full bracket is out. |
