Oh well. Probably would have been D4 with my levelranks. I'll get in on the next one when hopefully I'm better. If I continue to play...

Guess I'm just not as used to it as other songs. Like, I didn't even know what category it was or who it was by.

Well i play three initial runs for fun just to understand the tricky parts in the song, then i take my best score and set autofail to that amount of good with 1av, 1boo, 1miss, so that i get a clean FC. But when i make this autofail, i don't think about it, it just focus on the beat of the song and making sure my fingers match to the beat (sometimes i even play while watching my judgement count "Perfect" "good" and watch the arrows go up in my upwards (peripherals?) because naturally i cant associated each note with the beat, but really i guess just set the autofail and play the song like it was any other fun run, not serious. if you fail just try again.

EDIT:
I asked knew this for years, but fun tip, if you fail the song and want to adjust your game settings but getting back to the song is hard, set your search song options so that the min difficulty is 1 higher than the max difficulty then hit random song and your last played song will start playing, presumably your tourney song. EX: Min=7, Max=6 or Min=9, Max=8. (hit random)

Won't whore TBMHS anymore, I'm done with it.

I guess I don't have much to loose anyways, since I would have been raped in the following rounds anyways. And if none of D7 submits, I'll be 3rd for sure anyways <3

Nice one, OHN.

Xayphon, keep playing. Since you're one of the 3 players submitting scores, you'll get 3rd place, as you said and, well, it's still a good place.

There needs to be a real time tournament where you only get to play the song once. These tournaments are really lame when you can play the song 1000 times until you AAA it. Then all of the scores submitted are AAA's.

If you can't preform on the spot then it isn't as good.

And it would be a classic bracket system where 2 people go at it and the winner advances. I'd make a tournament like this if I had any credits and MP wasn't down.

That's actually a good idea, but the fact that MP can lag at time, people are using Vista, or whatever other excuse they can come up with makes it hard to have such a tourney. And we all know that the one who loses may bitch about it and say that they lagged or something.

Rodrig0v 10-26-2010 03:11 PM

Well sure they will be upset for losing but that doesn't mean they wouldn't be out of the tournament. I think it could work just fine. Don't sign up for a MP tournament if you know you have issues with MP lag. And for the most part everyone would be playing under the same handicap which would make it fair.

True, and you said the loser isn't out of the tournament? You said that the winner carries on to the next round, what happens to the loser? Does the loser go to the losers bracket and plays from there?

Re: Dragons Fury Welcome Back Tournament

I don't think it really matters. It would depend on how big the prize pool is really. If there is enough to also give a prize pool to a losers bracket then sure. Otherwise there would only be a winner, 2nd and 3rd place.

I've thought about mp tourneys in the past but it seems like to much of a pain in the ass to me. You have to get everyone online at the same time and with different timezones that's a pain then there is the lag issue that has been mentioned. I can't play MP at all without lagging which is why I never really played it anymore before the site went down. But AJ is the mp whore so I wouldn't be surprised if he does one when it comes back to life lol.
