[4k, X-Mod/SM5 ONLY] Borrowed Time

sm5 is REQUIRED, there is only an ssc file in the folder.
x-mod is probably required, not sure how warps works on c-mod.

this chart is very very hard. I can't state how important it is to know that you can't brute force this chart like you can with others. I'd say that it's an entirely new dimension of difficulty.

preview

general tips:
mines almost exclusively show where warps are
the fake section is so much harder than the rest of the chart
most holds have lifts at the end of them to force release. didn't use mines because of them being used for warps

I can't pass this
graphics by the amazing lurker

good luck

So you try to hit the mines in the warp sections, avoid the green arrows? If so doesn't look that hard, hmm

the final section has warps that contain arrows, those change into mines once you hit the warp

the fake section is a lot harder than you might think

That chart is incredibly cool and looks like it'd be fun to learn o.o

okay so c-mod works just fine as long as you play with mines off
also thanks to this, I just found out that "no fakes" doesn't work anymore since fakes are not considered notes, they are considered sections

Holy shit this is hard

For some reason it's showing Mina's noteskin there, but I used Orbular actually
Speedmod seems to be missing, I used m1620 (C810 doubled because there's a 2x bpm section there)

The fake section literally causes my hands to shake like crazy because my fingers want to hit those notes

v2: Switched to spawncamping-wallhack over transcendance for this cause it looks less like I'm lying through my teeth lmao

That's odd, I've witnessed No Fakes working perfectly in a gimmick file I'm working on. But then again, those are individually placed fakes. It must be only header-defined fakes that don't get removed.

Which is cool, I guess, because basically the only time you're gonna be faking whole sections is when they're gonna be skipped by a warp.

yeah, I remember making a file a few years back that had placed fakes. never got released unfortunately, rip sublimit. the way these are done now turn entire sections of placed notes in fakes.
actually now that I think about it, I wonder if I could use the entire spectrum of notes in a fake section. holds, mines, etc.

this gives me some pretty neat ideas, ur a genius

I found an error in the chart that practically guarantees a cb unless you notice it and remember to hit it every time
uploading a fix

pretty sure sm5 supports warps on cmod

they do
best bet for cmod warps on this chart is to turn mines off
it'll be the only time I don't internally get mad at people who play with them off lmao

edit: fix uploaded

Don't mention it :3

Please tell me how that goes because to be honest I'm really interested if it will work.

Also, No Fakes is fixed for the next version of SM.

This is a pretty cool file. Nice use of mines, warps, and fakes! This has a different kind of difficulty for a sim file which is really sweet.
