I already make notes for songs like that since I legitimately cannot listen to harsh noises like that without bad things happening. Sometimes I ask others to check them if I'm not sure it's safe for me but a definitive tag of like "audio warning" or "headphone warning" would be nice. The issue for me is I think that'd be super subjective unless it's like ultra blatant, in the case of stuff like Cobra Commander or <insert Extratone song here>. Because the stuff that I can't handle may not be the same as stuff that others can handle and vice versa, just leading to endless arguments about that kinda thing. Which, btw, also applies to like any other warning/tag you could put on the other songs.

I remember Kayla mentioning a few weeks ago that either the artist data is going to be moved into the song list itself, or that she would like for it to be; much like how skill token descriptions are now. If that's going to be a thing, maybe the warnings could also be held there, depending on how much space that'd take up. Maybe an indicator of whether or not a song has a video/background, too, assuming people actually play without "backgrounds off".

basically 100% this, lest this topic becomes another "Rap is music, technically" thread.

We separated legacy files from FFR files mainly for blue note syndrome & quality. There's still a couple of legacy files (like Revo Etude/fotbb) that didn't get the legacy cut because of their difficulty. The problem is inherently in how the files are stepped, not the music itself.

This issue can be fixed with just some simple tagging, there's no reason to hide these from public view. If people click past the warning then that's on them.

Subaru also brings up another good point. Use the 'Song Options' page to highlight songs that aren't for you via Song Notes. Make use of the right click menu if you have no way of making heads from tails of the stuff.

i agree, ive learned that removal would be too much for too many songs since lots are explicit. i also know, being a musician, people are entitled to musical integrity - tasteless or not.. however this song is beyond tasteless, its disgusting. And to those believing I don't get the "joke" for the Dishwater song, I do and its not funny, its gross and mean.

I'm just a casual player in terms of staff, and i think it would be a great conversation to bring up to the Staff if Artist History is a trigger to some.

Let me be blunt:

What you've been sobbing and complaining about, doesn't really achieve anything in the long run. All you've done is cry about song lyrics, of which the joke went over your head. You've just given more work for the admins, and people who work on the engine to do.

I'd already planned on re-adding the [explicit] tag tbh when the n word popped up in a recent tournament pick it was mentioned again. It's probably good that we're at least giving a heads up before someone plays a song.

With that said I'm going to lock this down now before it starts going too off track. If anyone wants to help me track down explicit songs just shoot me a DM.
