RULES. READ FIRST OR YOUR THREAD MAY BE DELETED

Welcome to the Multiplayer Game Planning forum! We have such a great community here, and so many of us play games besides FFR, it seemed like we might get some good traction on providing a centralized place for people to organize and schedule times to play multiplayer games together.

To keep this forum as a useful and effective resource, we're going to have some fairly strict rules about thread formatting and content. Nothing nasty, just making sure everything stays easily readable by everybody else.

1/ Thread titles MUST follow this format:
[Date/Server Time] Name of Game

Server time is viewable up at the top of any forum screen, and makes a handy way to make sure everybody can math out exactly when an event is happening without needing to do time zone conversion.

2/ Only make a thread to schedule an event

If you want to talk generally about video games, we have a forum for that. If you want to talk generally about other subjects we have a forum for that too!

The whole goal of this section is to make it clear and easy for anybody to jump into any game anybody else wants to play, so as long as the threads stay tidy, we can do that.

Anything persistant or ongoing where people can easily jump in and out (WoW and other MMO guild info, online games with persistant always-up servers) can be stickied at the top of the forum. Anything one-off can just be a thread. Don't hesitate to throw up a thread even if you're only going to be playing a game for a couple hours, just to see if anybody wants to jump in.

Is... Is there really a need for this? It seems like you have been the only person making scheduled events like this.

I don't see the reason why not to bump the (example) rocket league form saying "hey game tomorrow at 9 server come join" like what we have done for the past few years.

Also I hope you don't intend on deleting any threads that decide to not use this format opting for the method I explained above outside of this form section, please correct me if I'm wrong.

that's because it's new and no one has made a thread other than dev lol. I'm going to make a thread soon for the new path of exile xpac. if I have time this weekend I'll make a L4D2 thread as well

whenever you bump the rocket league thread, the only thing that pops up on the front page is "Rocket League." having tags and start/end times looks better on the front page

I sincerely doubt they'd be deleted, as the threads outside of this forum are used for general talk about the game as well

The subforum had existed less than 24 hours when you made this post. Let people actually see it and get used to it being here in terms of trying to use it for its purpose. We also have a few members of staff committed to keep a few things going all the time so there's always activity which will engender more activity.

Building community events takes time. When I started running my Sunday board Game Day at my store, we got 0-2 people each Sunday. Now we have 12-15. Same with every other recurring event I've done at the store. Give it some time before you decide it's not needed.

Having it all in one central place, neatly organised and readable at a glance makes it easier for people to see what is happining and going to happen, which makes it more successful.

Why would I delete a thread somewhere else that was people planning something? I might post in it saying "Why not go post this in the multiplayer games forum" but what would make you think I'd delete it?
