Depends on the average MMR of the games he won/lost, also adjusted for his current MMR when he started. If his MMR wasn't quite Silver 5 I can understand but that's still a rather big drop

Someone who was Bronze V; got carried up to silver V in duo with a gold's help. Then did their placements for pre season and got bronze again. (Unless you mean dropping divisions in a single season)

-I'm scared to do my provisionals. Last season I went 7-3 because 2 games we had a dc and 3 games we fought people who had dc's (Does league still have random afk/drops in ranked? It happens on my team at least once in 4 games I swear).

I played six series games the last week of preseason and both series were decided by DCs
Someone was afk in 5/6 games, four of those being to my disadvantage.

You should be able to do it again, it should only take ~30 wins (15 straight) to get into Diamond from where you are at.

Hey all, Silver 3 adc main (mid/support/jung secondary) LF 5s team. I main Jinx, sivir, twitch, kat, diana, malz, annie, lulu, nami

I used to play with golds and plats and occasionally play tournaments on victorious gaming for RP and have won the victorious ryze skin (granted that's not a big achievement lately).

got placed a division lower than where I was all of last season despite a 3-1 kdr for my wins and a positive kdr for losses during promos, as well as a 1v5 penta on jinx so that coupled with irl crap leaves me with no motivation to play solo queue anymore, though I will consider playing with good support/jung main.

On a good note, met a cool dude who wanted me on his 3s team because of a 11-0 Zed game but the team is Plat 3 and I haven't been around the plat scene enough to learn so I am doing my best. Still interested in a fiffer ranked team.

With a constantly changing game, it's rough early on. You'll get the hang of it if you keep playing and hit level 30.

Don't play Ranked because lolragefest.

Speaking of Ranked, what in the fuck is AD Fizz? Mid or Top, it's insane how well he does vs most champs cept when in top against Garen, cause Garen is still broken.

The rework moved a ton of power to his W, so he works really well with an on-hit/AS bruiser-style build, similar to how you build Irelia or Jax.
He's squishier than them (no W heal or tenacity as Irelia has and no Jax E/Ult to tank) but he does more damage than them because of the R debuff and even more sticking power.

Ever since Garen's passive buff, he is literally unstoppable. I haven't lost as Garen in Ranked yet because you can rush a brutilizer and immediately get sunfire/warmogs and you can survive anything at that point.

iirc if you max Garen's E first (starts at 60% iirc), by level 5 it is doing 90% which with a brut plus 11 AD from runes has it about ~130-150 damage per hit from E that rips through the enemies' life.

Vs squish like riven, lee, jax top (compared to Garen) are simple, having tanks top vs Garen makes it a CS match leading to Garen having an advantage because of his high damage minion clear.

When I started I just played 3s until 30 (back before they had queue restrictions) but it's gotten a lot more serious in recent times

Garen isn't that good. You must be low elo or something. If the other team works together and positions well, there's really not much he can do in teamfights. Although surely if they're way out of position and you can spin to win against 1 enemy at a time he'd sure seem OP.

It is a long way.
Enjoy it, no need to rush, 30 isn't anything particularly special.
Like you hit 30 and, congrats you unlocked a more expensive tier of runes and are now queued with people who have been playing longer and are more jaded and prone to raging. Wow, what a reward- enjoy the climb man.

Also Garen in 5s is pretty useful as a situational lane bully counterpick (definitely nice against poke-less melee ability-based champs like Riven), but he's hardly broken. I'd be glad to lane against a first pick Garen any day, just pick Lissandra and roll my face on the keyboard to win lane, then have 100x the impact in teamfights too. Garen in 3s is a different beast, largely because I don't even think Riot's balance team knows 3s is a game mode.

I had a good laugh at this, but whatever you all may say about Garen, he has never failed for me when I have used him. I don't play him as a tank in the sense I don't sit around to soak damage, I single out a carry and ignite Q E Ult and that carry 95% of the time gets melted.

Still using the mindset of Season 1 where Garen is more as an Assassin than tank. That's the complete opposite now in recent time.

I think he's implying the fact that if you can successfully get on a carry as a zero gap-closer melee champion with no tank items, the problem is with the people you are facing more than the champ you are playing. I feel that works only as long as their Thresh doesn't know how to press E, when he does then suddenly your champion is completely useless outside Flashing on them.

Zero gap closer? Ghost plus Q and you're pretty much outrunning anyone without a dash even if they have the chance to use it.

Garen in 3s is different because now the Challenger teams use duo comps to counter such a pick. Duo > Solo in 3s any time, hell, they even counter jungles in 3s.

That is pretty obvious though.

And I fucked up my MMR this season sadly. I lost 12 in a row and tanked down to plat 5. Now it's +13 -21 lol.

Best advice I can give. Do NOT buy any runes until level 30. Or if you do, make sure they are the highest tier runes, not the low tier.

They nerfed the price (and variety) of low tier runes, they're literally like 5 IP each now, so they're actually not a bad investment if you care to get them. Of course they still barely do anything and do clutter up your rune book though once you hit 30, which can be annoying. idk if there's a way to hide all but t3 runes or something.

Lower than Plat in 3s still rocks double solo with a jungler but it's becoming so popular that supports are now popular bans in 3s such as Leo, Thresh, and Braum.

Though it's stupid how easy first blood is when you invade jungle early or setup in bottom or top bush.

iirc there is a way to just show tier 3 runes in your book but I only have T3 runes so I cannot confirm.

EDIT: Oh, Hi19, I do not ever go straight damage on Garen. Warmog, Sunfire, Randuin or Visage (situational) are must-buys when I play him. Even a Giant Belt rush in lane is well enough sustain with his passive buff.

im officially a believer in elo hell. diamond 5 in NA. get silver 3 out of provisionals LAN. 3 of the losses were cuz the server kept shutting down (general occurrence, so theres no way i coulda known for sure... rito FIX UR SERVERS) and the last i went legendary as evelynn, 13/3, but team goes 1/10, 1/8, 5/10 and 1/7. how am i spose to carry that. so frikin pissed at the rank system.

Lee is getting more popular, and with the changes on Fizz, I've seen a lot of jungle fizz.

I still play Shaco Jungle if I ever jungle and usually carry (15-3 KD approx) as him.

Rek'Sai is so annoying because ganks OP but I feel like she falls off late game depending on the player.

i rarely see a good shaco player below high plat, but once they do show up, hot damn are they good... agree that rek falls off hard late game and converts mainly to a tank/cc champ. unless theyre diamond 1, they arent a good lee, rule of thumb lol (me included). fizz is broken atm. not fun to play against.

edit: i meant shaco players above high plat are usually good, not below that*

He's my main jungle if I mained jungle, learning how to properly use his boxes in the correct way and how to perform a decent stealth gank (Wukong and Shaco both) really helps him. Also, with any champ that has a controllable clone or Morde, I am really good at using it well to dictate how the enemy moves.

I'm currently 14-7 iirc in Plat 5 (82-83 LP (can't remember at the moment)) but ranked is getting way too serious for my liking. Last time I played a ranked I got ganked and first blooded and immediately bot lane started thrashing me saying "GG" when it was 3 1/2 minutes into game lmao

You know, URF is probably the most fun I've had playing league in ...forever.

Favorite Champs right now are Vlad, AP Trynda and Ryze. Vlad and Ryze are undervalued because of their weak early games but both scale stupidly well and become monsters.

AP Trynd probably one of the most annoying champions in URF.

URF is ridiculously useful for practicing mechanics, especially flash cancelling skill animations. Stuff like Ahri charm-flash is so much more enjoyable to practice when it has a 60 second cooldown.
Also of course the mode is just a lot of fun.

If I tryhard in URF I go Lulu because polymorph spam is beyond annoying and you can't miss it.
If I really, really tryhard, I go AD Malz and just push towers. Both champs share one characteristic: long silences are generally just really good in URF.

i'm still trying to figure out champions, sona is too easy to braindead spam everything every second and dance party. otherwise, i've tried nidalee and, leblanc for urf. I don't have good runes for AD yet and no ip to buy them either ;w;

charm flash for ahri is in that order, right - you flash during your charm cast time -> your charm will come from where you flashed to, but will it head in the same relative direction that you initially cast it in, or will it head towards the spot that you targeted?

It blows my mind that I stopped playing this game like 2 yrs ago and complained frequently back then about the shitty client and lack of sandbox modes for practice, among other things...and they still haven't been implemented.

How riot puts so much time and effort and production value into the competitive league scene to keep it the most popular game in the world, yet absolutely no time into the game itself beyond constant buffs and nerfs is beyond me.

u cant really practice the game outside of playing ranked, and of course, that counts towards your rank. other competitive games like cs go have like, community made aim training maps and deathmatches that force you to improve your reaction speed. so, it still keeps the competitive scene going while also appeasing to the people that are starting off that just want to improve.
